I have been using the press for a few months now, and it still works great. I was rough on it at the beginning due to inexperience, but it still presses the clay evenly. I don’t remember noticing stains on my clay the first time I used it, but that can easily be fixed by cleaning it with a baby wipe prior to using it. It’s very easy to clean. I’ve used it over a hundred times, and the clay does not stick to it unless it is too soft to work with. The handle does come off easily, but I have read that it is common for cheaper presses to do this. Removing the handle makes it more compact to stow away. It is a little noisy, but it does what it is made for. If you are new to polymer clay and want something economical, this is a good buy.

This is my first polymer clay machine, and I loooooove it! I had a difficult Toomey putting it back together after taking it apart to clean. The instructions say not to disassemble (probably for this reason) but it became necessary after a couple months of constant use. I did manage to get it put back together correctly. My only really issue is that's the hand crank falls off very easily. I can deal with that though. Overall, it's a great product for the price.

I bought this to roll putty and it did not work well for me. The chrome color looks nice but left black streaks on the putty I was flattening so I can't say I was happy with that. It was hard to use. The handle is not attached and falls out constantly while using. I had to pick it up off the floor every few seconds, which was a hassle. Size is smaller than pasta rollers, which is what I ultimately ended up buying instead and was a lot happier with. It also squeaks when it rolls so the sound drove me crazy. The little round metal part on the size that looks like some sort of cap, fell off the first time I used it. You also can't clean it because it does not come apart so if you get something stuck in the rollers, well good luck with that. I go cheap on a lot of things and it ends up being fine, but don't go cheap on this. Go get a $50 pasta roller for your clay and thank me later.

I have a love/hate thing going on with this clay press. LOVE that it’s adjustable for the thickness of the (polymer) clay sheets. Definitely makes things more uniform. HATE that it’s terrible to clean! Sharp edges around the rollers have cut me several times already. Two areas on the underside of the rollers get clogged with residue clay that’s stuck to the rollers, and they are extremely hard to clean. That residue has a tendency to smear into other colors of the polymer clay I’m working with. I did find a clay tool with a curved point on the end that helps scrape it out, but there is always some left behind.

Original review: I received a dilapidated box. The box edges were not even together but had been broken apart. Clearly it was opened before. The item itself was dirty, very used, mistreated and then returned. When I purchase an item I except it to be new. Not happy. Will be returning. Updated review: returned item for a replacement. Replacement came new. The product works well and has done exactly what I hoped for. Use it for working with polymer clay. It works great! Updating my stars from 1 to 5
