It's not that I purchased these with any particular hopes of amazingness, but when the package came, I was pretty impressed with how effective they are. I have one on the doorframe of my office next to a note pad for messages. No one ever uses it because they prefer to text me inappropriately rather than pop the rainbow-hued pencil out of this holder and write the same message on the pad so I'm not bugged when I'm allowed to be away from work. Which leads me to wonder if the concept of a magnetic pen/pencil holder is too advanced in my place of employment. That is entirely possible since the second one has been deployed to allow easy recording of the use of supplies and the pen, holder, and supply reorder list appear to be completely unsullied, yet we're still out of copy paper. In all seriousness, the magnet is strong, the coil holds whatever you stick in it firmly but releases it easily, and it allows me to decorate my office door with a rainbow pencil, so there you go. ... show more

The magnet on this thing is freakishly strong! I was nervous about it scratching my new fridge since I had to work so hard to pull it off, so I added a felt pad (the ones you use for furniture). It still has a nice strong hold without the concern of scratches.

This is Amazing pen holder for the refrigerator. Keep in mind, you not taking pen out of this holder when you want to use the pen, rather pull the whole holder and write with this holder on the pen. This was a confusing part before I purchase it.
