My 7 year old granddaughter has had hours of fun with this, an adult would find it boring, however it’s so much fun to see her face light up and the joy she brings when playing with this and is a good tool for interactive play involving imagination. My daughters both have one. They love how it functions. They’ve had their lamps for 5 months and play with them weekly and it still works great. It has a pretty decent battery life. It is quite loud so if you need for it to be quiet make sure the kids aren’t right next to you lol the smell is quite strong. It is probably the one and only thing I do not appreciate about the toy. I have an air purifier and when the “potion” comes out of the spout in the form of vapor, it makes the air quality on my purifier turn red which is a little concerning. So if you let your little one play with it make sure it is in an open space with a window open. Other than that it was worth the value. ... show more

    • Large Genie Lamp is difficult
The Genie lamp looks very cool but has too many steps to get it open and the Magic Mixie to pop out. The Mixie is not easily put back in the lamp either. This should be good for OVER age 8.

This was super cool! We love magic mixies. This one was a lot more fun than the cauldron one. Very interactive, my girls were freaking out from excitement the entire time!

    • Your kid has to really love this kind of toy to stay interested
This was an xmas toy and my 7 yr old saw it on youtube and really wanted it. It was showy with the lights and the smoke and the noises inside BUT to get the thing to come out it has these various color dials you have it turn at the right moment, if you don't, you have to retrace your steps and it looses the magic. The little creature inside is cute and does repeat what you say and makes little noises, but all the work to get the ring, then rub it, tap it, shake it twist the dial to the tiny speck of color at the right time...she's only played with it 3 times and already its going to the give away pile ( smoke out of the toy lasted that long and maybe had a 4th or 5th time left in it). So just a warning for the buyer and parent that hope's this gives their kids long lasting fun.....it didn't for my kid. ... show more
