This toy has both our baby and the adults entertained. It is silly and captivating. Whether it’s just a little sound or a full sentence, the cactus will pick it up and repeat it in a very high-pitched, sort of robotic baby voice. It took us a minute to realize the toy was repeating us because the sound is so distorted. It definitely has all of us laughing. Baby was a little confused at first but entertained! She is 6 months old now. I look forward to using this when she starts babbling more so that it will seem like the toy is responding to her when she talks. I will say that the few pre-recorded songs programmed in the cactus are very annoying and fast-paced. I would have enjoyed if there were a few more catchy, less annoying songs. The cactus is soft to the touch. My daughter is very into textures right now, so she enjoys touching the cactus while it is dancing. She is also extremely captured by lights, so the little lights inside the cactus that flash while talking go a long way with her. We typically use this at our house, which is a relatively quiet environment. When first turned on, this toy is loud. I am very glad we opted for the volume-control option. There are really just 2 options- louder or quieter. We always opt for quieter version as I think the automatic loud option would be overwhelming for both of us. Overall I would recommend this toy and would consider purchasing it as a gift!

The media could not be loaded. Edit: Seller has contacted me and is sending a new toy so I have changed my rating until I know that this one will work. Seller was quick and polite with their response and with sending out a replacement. My daughter opened this gift for her birthday on September 14th. It's already not working and it's only October 10th. I am super disappointed because she is only 1 and doesn't understand why it isn't playing music anymore. It still dances a little but no music plays. I ordered it early for her birthday so I can't even return it because it's outside of the return window.

My 2 year old daughter really enjoyed this toy. We originally bought it when she was one but she didn't start really using it until around 2. I will say that it's not super durable. After several months, it was not responding to the talking as much and was inconsistent. I even tried replacing the batteries that that didn't help much. It still works occasionally but its ability to "copy" your words/sounds has diminished. It's a fun toy but if it's functionality only lasted a couple of months for us. It's very affordable so I'm okay with that.

So far I've bought two of these kinds of products (the hamster and cactus) for my kid and they both resulted in the same type of issues. At first it worked just find for the first 5 minutes, afterwards was all down hill from there. 1) The toy mechanism doesn't appear to be strong enough. (the hamster kind had cotton that would get stuck in places preventing it to function accordingly.) 2) The Mic doesn't accurately/clearly capture what is being said when being repeated back. 3) At times the Mic wouldn't or refused to capture anything at all. 4) The duration of play back gets cut off as if the toy suddenly dies. (Even on new batteries) All in all, these are poor quality gimmicky toys that do not last or function a full day. I will not be wasting my time entertaining the idea of trying a third time. Do not waste yours.

The media could not be loaded. I thought to myself that this would be an annoying toy. However, my child really wanted this cactus. I'm amazed my so many songs are loaded I couldn't count. It also records and playback clear. If you have no sounds of your own for it to repeat, it has a mixed playlist of old and newer, plus different known holiday songs. It's a cute, entertaining toy. The volume is an acceptable loud because the sound is clear. It does not sound like an old clock radio and it dances. I found myself playing with it just trying to count how many songs it plays.
