Such a crowd pleaser. I feel like it’s actually a lot cheaper than it should be. We’ve bought this for ourselves and for gifts. So many songs to dance to and of course it mimics. Quality is great. Fun, easy to use toy. Bought for my 2 year old, but my 7 year old highly enjoys it too. 4 stars for 2 reasons: 1) it’s very loud and there’s no way to adjust the volume 2) each time you turn it on, it starts at the first song, so if your child loves a certain song, you have to push the skip button multiple times to repeat a song. Still a fun, cool toy, especially with the mimicking function!

My 2 year old daughter really enjoyed this toy. We originally bought it when she was one but she didn't start really using it until around 2. I will say that it's not super durable. After several months, it was not responding to the talking as much and was inconsistent. I even tried replacing the batteries that that didn't help much. It still works occasionally but its ability to "copy" your words/sounds has diminished. It's a fun toy but if it's functionality only lasted a couple of months for us. It's very affordable so I'm okay with that.

Let me start be saying I bought this toy for a different purpose than it was intended. I have two older children nearing puberty and trying out their attitudes. I purchased this toy as a way to point out their tone of voice while keeping the correction funny so they can learn to laugh at themselves and adjust. For that purpose this toy is useless. I would turn it on when voices begin to stray into the unpleasant and it would not pick up anything being said. Loud noises and loud voices were all that were picked up. When it comes to the cactus as a baby toy, it is too breakable for young children. I have 4 children, some who play gently, some who do not. It would be easy for a child to break this accidentally. I'm not sure how the interior of the cactus is constructed, but I could imagine some shattered plastic poking through the fabric cover easily. It should never be used unsupervised. Also, because the microphone picking up noise isn't very sensitive, it will teach babies to make loud noises in order to be heard. Something most babies and toddlers do not need Encouragement in. If you have a soft spoken, gentle child who needs encouragement to speak louder and will most certainly treat this toy as though it's fine china, this toy is for you. Otherwise I would look elsewhere.
