I ordered this mug for a pesky but recurring issue: I take my coffee with a bit of sugar, and using a spoon adds a slight complication - I can't leave it in the cup - as I'm drinking from it, and if I have a second cup, I might have discarded the spoon already... I need a new spoon. Not a big deal, but if there is a simple issue to a tiny problem, why not try it? This mug solves the problem; I also don't have to think about it, I just press a button. I don't have to recharge it very often, either. The magnet is strong and stays inside the mug at all times, and is easy to clean. One minor thing (no star taken off, because it would be an enhancement): the lid could be clipped to the bottom. As sometimes I don't have enough liquid inside the cup, and it splashes out while stirring. I can use the lid, but then I have the same issue as with a spoon: I have to carry it around while it stirs, and I can forget it at my desk. If it could clip at the bottom of the mug, as a kind of coaster, it would be great.

The media could not be loaded. I was so pleased the first time I used this 13oz mug, that now is my favorite I have been using it for coffee every morning. The mug is sturdy. The interior of the mug and rim are a brushed stainless steel finish. The handle and lid are made of a hard pink plastic. This is a very cool self stirring, rechargeable mug, I put my coffee, my creamer push the button on top of the handle and let it do the magic. This mug works very well at keeping my coffee hot also with the lid on. The coffee still takes longer to cool with the lid off. The lid appears to be mostly for the purpose of keeping the liquid hot. If this mug was to be used in a vehicle it should be able to keep all of the liquid in with the lid on. I will be buying this as gifts for my family and friends, this is the coolest and best cup I ever have, great quality and value.

Besides being a self-stirring mug, what also intrigued me about this item was the magnetic mixing feature. I looked into this and found about half a dozen articles touting the health benefits of drinking magnetized water. The scientific explanation is very convincing and, if there is indeed truth to this, I’m all for it. On the other hand, I did find one article stating that as soon as the magnetic field is removed, the water no longer remains magnetized. So this is something I’d like to delve into further. Even if this happens to be nothing but fallacy, I will continue to use my magnetic mixing cup for the self-stirring feature. I’m a slow drinker and like to savor my morning coffee, which usually needs re-stirring as I like lots of creamer. Now that I’ve got this handy-dandy, self-stirring cup, all I have to do is press the button and let it run for a few seconds to re-stir my coffee. I’m also glad I have one less spoon to wash. Speaking of washing, when done drinking, just add one drop of dish detergent, fill cup halfway with water, turn on mixing cup, and there’s your self-cleaning feature. How simple is that?! Then do a quick rinse and let it air-dry. It would have been great if an extra sipping lid was included to keep beverages from cooling down too fast. I dug out an old s/s mug with a drinking lid that happens to fit the self-stirring mug perfectly (photos below). This keeps my coffee warmer longer, and I’m pleased as punch! As for the magnetic stirring bar at the bottom, I leave it alone. From my experience, it is a strong magnet and stays put, strongly adhered to the cup base. I have no concerns when I wash my mug and turn it over upside down over the sink to rinse. However, in light of safety concerns regarding choking hazard or accidental swallowing, either the present lid should be modified for sipping or else provide an extra sipping lid with the mug. It has been well over two months, and I use this mixing mug every day, self-stirring several times a day, and the power is still going strong. It has a nifty magnetic recharging feature, although not fully waterproof. At first I was concerned about getting the charging area wet when washing and took too much time to carefully wash the mug. I solved that issue by using a cap from one of my cosmetic bottles which fits the mug perfectly (photo below). Now I keep the magnetic charging head safely capped until recharging time. I can now wash the cup without worry and also save myself washing time. It also would have been great if this cup came with, say, a silicone cap to protect the magnetic charging area. Perhaps an extra sippy lid and silicone cap could be offered as a deluxe version in a future production line. Note: I see that the price has jumped from a recent pricing of $29.99 to $35.99; that’s a 20% increase. I don’t usually discuss pricing issues in my reviews. However, at the time I ordered this mug, value was placed at $22.99. Even if an extra sippy lid/silicone cap were to be included, in my opinion, price should be no higher than $29.99. Potential buyers can make their own decision as to whether a 55% price increase is warranted for what they are getting or not getting. A 55% increase, I would not call that “inflation”... I call it “greedflation!” Don’t sellers know that a lower price point equals quantity sales whereas a much higher price point equals fewer sales?!

I was intrigued by the instructions it comes with because the online description mentions none of what the instructions talk about. In addition to how to use and clean the cup, it introduces you to the theory of the health benefits behind magnetized water and how it’s an idea that’s been around for 1,400 years originating by Tao Hongjing sometime in 420-589 A.D. It’s really a neat read and an idea worthy of further research (see photos). Other than that it’s a nice and well-made self-stirring cup that eliminates the use of needing to wash a spoon when you mix your drinks. I drink milk with Ovaltine in the mornings with my waffles or toast, so that saves washing a spoon. The lid is nice if you use it with hot drinks so they keep warm, and the stainless steel is good because it won’t absorb any smells as plastic does. This would definitely make a great and very unique gift.
