I absolutely loved this game. It was definitely intense and a little scary for me, but that’s what made it so good. The realism in VR is incredible. The environments feel detailed and immersive, and the sound design really pulls you into the experience. There were moments I had to pause because it felt so real.     • Terrifying but glitchy
Madison VR is the scariest game I've ever played. I liked the game a lot, and it looks great in the headset. It's so terrifying that, even though I wanted to play, I hesitated because of the sense of dread I felt while playing. The jump scares are numerous and they got me good, even when I knew they were coming. Just knowing something frightening might be coming was absolutely nerve wracking. While you need to solve some puzzles, you spend most of the time trying to figure out what to do next. You'll often need to snap a picture of something or interact with a particular object to advance the story. There were a few times where I got stuck and had to consult a strategy guide. That's the game. There's no combat and really no variation in the story based on decisions you make. The game is definitely glitchy. It's a 2D game that was ported over to VR, so there are some things that take away from the immersion. Overall, I think they did a pretty good job. I had a few times where the game shifted me out of the play area and I had to reset. I got stuck up around the ceiling of certain rooms. And like I mentioned, I got stuck because I couldn't figure out what to do next, and sometimes that was because it was hard to interact with what I was supposed to be interacting with. Despite the difficulty and a few technical problems, Madison VR is totally worth playing and it's the best VR game I've played in a while. Not for the faint of heart! ... show more

Pros: - Very creepy, unnerving environment/sounds - Almost photo-realistic graphics - Great to show off to and scare friends/family - Cool bonus items (with physical copy) Cons: - Some janky controls break immersion - Auto-saved game files mean you can't easily re-load into a specific section of the game (for instance to let someone else try a particularly scary section) - Cryptic puzzles become frustrating, and you will likely have to consult a walkthrough - Ultimately limited replay value once you know the solutions to the puzzles, and no alternate endings ... show more
