I got the smaller 12 pack of these same boards for my daughters for Christmas and they LOVED THEM!!! They are 8 years old and can be difficult to keep entertained with something for very long. They spent HOURS painting and by the second day all the canvases were painted. They begged me to get them more so I ordered these. They came very quickly and my girls were thrilled to see 48 brand new canvases!!!! The first pictures painted are still very sturdy, no warping and this size is perfect for my girls. I got these for birthday party where we would do paint pouring but I let my kids paint on a couple as soon as we got them. They used watercolors and I was surprised at how well the water colors adhered to the canvas board because I was not expecting them to turn out very well. Well, I think I just figured out why the watercolors worked so well ..., 🙄 The boards are not actually primed yet! I didn't really look at them and when we did a trial paint pouring activity, the boards got pretty soggy and curved. They dried nice and sturdy but they are no longer flat. I am going to prime them myself and hopefully that will take care of the curving. Update 8/21/22: Priming seemed to help the paintings not curve right away but unfortunately as our new paintings dried, the canvas boards ended up curving just as much as the unprimed boards. ... show more

These are great for beginners or others for watercolor, acrylic, and oil painting. However, if you're looking to do the Bob Ross wet-on-wet technique, they absorb a TON of your magic white base coat and it tends to dry too quickly. Stretched, double-primed canvases would be better for that I think ... but since I have a whole lot of these to use up, I'll just continue to put on an extra- thick coating of the magic white basecoat to make up for the absorption. It's a good be size to work with, in my opinion. (10"x14") You can finish a painting rather quickly, but they're not tiny little the miniature ones. Also, be since it's a standard frame size, it makes it quick and easy to get be your best artwork framed. ... show more
