I got this book for my husband for his first father's day 4 years ago. He read it to our child and then put it away, and I hadn't seen him read it since. I thought it must have been a dud, although I thought it was a touching and tear-jerking read. When my husband's brother found out his wife was pregnant, my husband told me "I already know what I'm getting my brother" -- this book. He's a tough guy, works outdoors, doesn't notice mud on his boots or stains on his carrharrt hoodies, and his heart is big to match. His wife is carrying their 1st after years of trying. He is big, babies are little. He will be an amazing daddy! Baby products come in all sizes and colors. Parents to be have endless choices of gear, literature and names. But more often than not, prepregnancy stuff leans towards momma. This book is ONLY about a new baby and his big hearted daddy. I instantly loved it. I gave it to my son as a "father-to-be" Fathers day gift. He read each page silently and his smile got bigger as he went. This is one of the best little kids books I’ve ever read! The pictures are adorable, the sentiments are well written and the entire book is overwhelmingly heartwarming.     • very sweet book for dads
Very sweet story. I read it to my daughter it's one of her favorites. It's especially poignant now that she's five and remembers a lot of good things in the book and now that I have to miss her every other week of her life because of her crazy mother. ;)
