So my son and I are just staring to get into paintball and I don't want his first time out to be his last. I looked around for a bit and finally decided on the maddog combo kit. When it arrived the vest was thicker then I thought it was gonna be which was a nice surprise we tried it on him the fit was good he was able to move quit easily no restrictions like the quality can't wait to see how it actually performs. The gloves are exactly what I was looking for hard shell on the back of the hand and fingers just a smidgen big but he can still move and control his paint marker. Not much to say about the neck protector I never used one when I played years ago but we'll see how well it does when we actually get a chance to play. Definitely good quality for the price. Gotta crawl before we run

My husband wanted me to join him in paintball. I've never been so he said just to be prepared for to get shot and for it to hurt. I don't like not knowing things so I told him to shoot me point blank so I would know exactly how much it would hurt ahead of time. He hesitated but after days of asking I stood there and took a shot to the thigh wearing jeans OUCH I bruised for weeks! I also put this vest on and told him to shoot me he did twice and it definitely did not hurt as much as not wearing protection, one of the little paintballs bounced off the vest and I had no bruises after. Not sure if I'll join the paintball scene but if I did I'm wearing this vest. Medium- Fits snug and comfortable. Easy to move about in.

The vest fits a little snug and is one size fits most/some. Once I wear it a little more it will hopefully loosen up. The neck guard actually fits me pretty decent. (Guess I got lucky). Now when you pick your size in the description from small/med or large/XL that is for the gloves so keep that in mind when you order this item. Measure your hands with a tape measure to be safe lol. With that said, the gloves are the only problem I had. They are by far the cheapest gloves i have ever seen or ordered. They do not look appealing and look like someone just put plastic bits on gloves and glued them on. Cant say they will protect my hands and will probably fall apart within a few times of use. Other than that, I cant really complain about the price. Im 5'11" weight 140 and I'm slim build. I ordered the small/med and everything fits ok. I'm content.

Not bad for the price. The area it covers works pretty good. I got shot twice in the back (by my own teammates haha). One just missed the vest while the other hit squarely on it. On my attached picture you can see the obvious hit just outside the vest but there's another one that's up a little to the left that's slightly red but nowhere near the same effect. So the protection works if it hits your vest but the coverage, although large (front & back), is limited. Also, I got hit on the glove (pinkie knuckle) while walking off the field and there was no pain or marks left behind so that seemed to work well too. Didn't get hit on the neck so I can't comment on that one but it fit well enough and didn't bother me when I had it on. Got a little hot but that was to be expected.
