These shorts were very comfortable. I am a male and am 5' 8" tall and weigh 168 lbs. I do not like my shorts baggie or with long inseams . I got a medium and with the 7 inch inseam they fit pretty well. To me, they are just a little baggie, but not bad. My wife says they look good on me. I will use them for just hanging around the house and other casual uses like going to the store, a friends house etc. So far I have only worn them once and washed them once. I did not use the dryer. I let them air dry. They seem to have kept their shape at this point. So that is a good thing. But the pockets are too small. The front pockets can fit my cell phone or my bill fold and still zip. The back pocket can just barely fit my regular sized bill fold and zip. I cannot put my iPhone 10 in the back pocket and zip it. The pocket is too small. I gave these shorts a 4 but would have given them a 5 if the pockets were just an inch or so bigger. I hope the company enlarges the front and back pockets an inch or so and if they do, I would like them to let me know. At that point I will probably buy more. ... show more

    • Great Shorts - Lose the Zippered Pockets

I would typically never buy shorts with zippered pockets. Not worth the trouble (and I get that's just my opinion). But, from a fabric and care perspective, zippers add heft and fabric to that area which looks bundled up after several washes unless you keep the zippers closed. Which I don't. And then there's a bit of irritation reaching in and out as my hand grates over the zipper. This is not specific to these shorts, but why I don't like zippered pockets on lounge shorts in general. So why five stars? Everything else is perfect. They wash and wear well. Hold their shape after lounging and sleeping. Lightweight, but made of a heavyweight cotton, if that makes sense. A huge upgrade from big-box brand, thin shorts. If you like Chubbies and Vuori, these aren't quite there, but they're a third of the price. Length is perfect, above the knees. Waist stays tight. I had some really comfortable athletic shorts that I had for years. You know the ones, the ones that were like your favorite jeans until your mom threw them out. Well, not my mom but my wife. I guess she did not think that several holes all over the place were trendy, not in athletic shorts. So enter the Maamgic shorts. I could not find the old brand of shorts in a reasonable price and I am glad I did not now because the Maamgic shorts are a better build. They have pockets with zippers so the keys and all stay put. The back pocket fits my wallet and the pocket zippers too so these shorts are great to wear out on errands to the hardware store and elsewhere.
