  • Good Value
Much less expensive than buying in local art store. Cost about the same at several online art supply stores.

  • I have always used acrylic paint but wanted to try something different for fun. What I didn't know about oil paint is ...
I recently purchased a small oil painting set. I have always used acrylic paint but wanted to try something different for fun. What I didn't know about oil paint is that you needed oil to Mia in with the paint. I did my research and came across this brand of walnut oil. I decided I wanted to paint a four piece painting. I started off by mixing this sign four different colors and painting the background on each canvas. I let it somewhat dry for a few days the mixed this oil with some white oil paint and painted a big white dot in the center of each canvas. I was unaware that my oils paint still had not dried but it worked out great because I was able to make the white personalized to each canvas. I would like to paint flour petals but I know it will take a while for the oil paints to dry. I am just glad I found this product because it saved me a lot of frustration from not knowing how to use oil paints. A little seems to go a long way so this will probably last longer than my oils paints. ... show more

  • Perfect non toxic multi use product for oil paints
M. Graham walnut oil is perfect for extending and cleaning your brushes. I learned how to paint with oils and after dealing with too many harsh solvents in the early years I moved to acrylics. I missed the creaminess and fluidity in oils so I went back to oils and with M. Graham because of the low toxicity. This is why I love using their walnut oil. It can has a pleasant scent and works wonderfully as both a thinning agent and a brush cleaner all in one. Bonus, it also helps to condition the bristles on natural hair brushes so that they stay soft and flexible. ... show more

  • Miracle for oil painting
I've been oil painting for a while, using harmful turpenoid and the Mona Lisa brand paint thinner - carcinogens. I've researched healthier alternatives, and looked into natural oils. Walnut oil looked like the best option - others were infamous for drying too quickly or changing the color of the painting upon drying. I like when my paint doesn't dry too quickly, so I can work with the same paint the next day, blend, and so on. This oil is PERFECT. It's natural, not harsh, doesn't hurt the environment, and it's a perfect solvent for oil paint. Absolutely lovely. I used to detest oil painting because of the harmful solvents, but this oil is so useful. It smells like walnuts, and it's a bit thicker than turpenoid. I keep my used oil in a container and let it separate, then a week later use a syringe to take out the clear oil. The mixed up paint at the bottom can be used as a base for future paintings. I'll definitely be coming back to this oil, I highly recommend it. ... show more
