I had 3 places with minor buckeling in my carpet in different rooms in my home. I purchased this item to fix the buckeling figuring it would be more cost effective than paying a tradesman to come out. I had all three locations fixed in about 30-45 minutes. Considering this was my first time working with carpet I was very surprised at how quickly and easily it worked. From a product construction perspective it was a well built solid tool. I would not recommend for a professional with daily use. However, for a DIY'er using it for random projects here and there I would expect this tool to last a long time. Another note on consruction even though the pad was very thick I still was a bit soar on my knee the next day. Granit the discomfort was minor and I was slamming my knee into it fairly hard. I mention because anyone purchasing this tool should be prepared to put some physical effort into the project while using any carpet kicker tool. ... show more

    • Just what I needed for some quick restreching
I bought this to restretch a few sections of carpet that have gotten buckled over time. It did just what I needed it to and worked perfectly. There are ample adjustments to the depth the "spikes" go into the carpet which will allow it be used for many different thicknesses. The construction is durable and will certainly hold up to my only occasional use. Definitely recommend for the average homeowner's use. ... show more
