  • Everyone hold up….
Size: 60 Watt Color: Red
This is a cheap amp. Plain and simple. I ordered a red refurb and got the wood grain. Whatever. It was $55 with free shipping. It still looks cool. Expecting this to fill a stadium with distorted sound? This is not the amp to do it. HOWEVER, If you have a smidge of patience and a discerning ear you CAN get the sounds that you are looking for. Search up amp settings on YT, Marty Music. He is the man and you CAN get great tones out of this amp. The clean channel is very clear and crisp. I have the 60 watt and the clean channel is very clean and VERY LOUD and has great reverb. I am able to get a great range of clean sounds with my cheapy tele knock off (Indio tele, which I LOVE BTW). So here’s the deal. I have owned a very similar 30 watt Marshall SS amp in the past and the cleans on both sound very similar. At a quarter volume it’s well loud enough for my basement rock out sessions. I have used small Fenders and this 60 watt version is well on par with those. Now, let’s talk about the overdrive/dirty channel. It’s basically like every other overdrive channel on a SS amp I’ve ever used. Perceived much quieter than clean, which is to be expected with the compression that the circuitry imposes. However, this is still workable if you don’t use pedals or multi effects. This is not concerning to me as I use a Boss DS-1 and it RIPS on the clean, plenty of headroom as this is a 60 watt amp. Construction? Looks cool. Nice size. The wood used is particle board and is a closed back. Not a huge issue as it is fairly solidly built. Knobs and switch are nice and feel good, not cheap feeling. Overall, for the price and the fact that you can old school tweak this amp with some patience and listening, I give it a 4.5 overall. Is it a Fender twin? No, but it’s not trying to be. It’s a great affordable amp. ... show more

  • It’s very good!
Size: 60 Watt Color: Black
I got it even though one of the prongs fell off on the plug ( it’s my fault ) other than that it’s good and it is loud so just what I like

  • Plenty loud for beginners.
Size: 20 Watt Color: Black
For $50 it's a decent beginner Amp. Has decent clean sound and has an overdrive that is adjustable.

  • A good practice amp with enough oomph to jam with others!
Size: 60 Watt Color: Sunburst
I bought this for my daughter, who suddenly decided to go from her acoustic and wants to learn lead. She wanted something that she could plug a mic into as well so she could also use it for small public performances. I've been a player (pro since 1969) for 58 years and know amps and tone, favoring blackface Fender amps. But that is cost prohibitive for a newbie so I bought her this Lyx amp for now and to see how dedicated she is to learning how to rip a bit. I gave the amp a full shake down before i gave it to her. A few notes: 1. The overdrive or 'Boost' channel is lower volume than the clean channel. Clean, the output is startling! Plan on getting an overdrive pedal if you want some distortion. 2. EQ is a but wonky. Very thin and bright until I maxxed the bass and turned the treble and mid to about the 9 o' clock position. The sound is very warm, clean and pretty powerful for it's size and class. 3. The mic input is for high to mid impedance only, so something like a Shure SM58 is not going to be loud enough. I had a few old Hi-Z mics around that fit the bill. Something from 600 to 1000 ohm will work fine. 4. The onboard delay is actually pretty good! But only effects the guitar channel. If you want to use a mic with it as well and want reverb on your voice, look for an in-line device or stomp box. This is a good beginner, or in my daughter's case, transition amp. Loud enough to sit in with other players at need and ideal as a personal amp/PA with the right mic. It is hard to beat for the price! But I also suspect it will not be a long lasting piece of gear. It feels substantial and sounds good, but given my experience, it is purely a starting point, not a permanent solution. ... show more

  • Nice beginner practice amp - but......
Size: 20 Watt Color: Mahogany
Picked this up to go along with a Squire Affinity Starcaster I'm attempting to learn. Arrived promptly, as described, no issues with order or delivery. It's pretty, convenient, and priced right for a beginner. The volume, tone and "drive" controls work as expected. I haven't tried anything with the "AUX-IN" jack, but the input and headphone ports work as advertised. But there's always a "but" isn't there? In this case, there's two. First - advertised and marked as a 20 watt device. You might think that a budget 20 watt amplifier would move more air and be louder than a budget 10 watt amp. At least in this case, you would be wrong. With both the Starcaster volume and this amp cranked to max - it's barely audible outside the 12x12 home office where I practice if I close the door. I plugged the same guitar into a borrowed cheap 10 watt BCP amp - and it will rattle the doors across the hall! Wife and kids don't mind the lower volume - but I expected more. Also noticed a bit of the "hum" from un-grounded plug others mentioned. Minus 1 Star. Secondly and more importantly - I've had this amp out of the box for less than two weeks. While it's pretty, the finish is basically some sort of stick-on wallpaper like material. Which is already starting to peel off around the rear opening where power cable is stored when not in use (see photos). This is totally unacceptable, and I will address with seller. Minus 2 stars. UPDATE: seems this was "Fulfilled by Amazon" so Amazon is the seller. Option were to return for direct replacement, or return for credit. Decided to return for credit, and get something similar with a grounded plug and less "wallpaper" finish. ... show more

  • STAY AWAY FROM THIS!
Size: 20 Watt Color: Black
I was so looking forward to plug in my guitar and it came in pieces. Loose parts inside, unattached components. I cannot say how it works because it was not put together!!! Terrible manufacturing!!! Do not buy!!!

  • A bang for the buck.
Size: 60 Watt Color: Red
Better than I expected, quality sound, ease of navigating controls, light weight, what more could I expect for the price.
