Bought this as a starter kit for my 7yo who started guitar lessons. It’s not the greatest craftsmanship guitar, but we also weren’t looking for that. We wanted a good electric guitar set with all that he needed to get started. If he does end up liking to play the guitar, we’ll consider buying a more expensive, better quality guitar. The 36” version is also the perfect size for our 7yo. Saw some comments about the frets sticking out on the neck cutting people’s fingers… that’s not the case with ours. I absolutely love this guitar already, I just got it in today! When I unboxed it I was floored at how nice it looked. The only thing I have to complain about is that the tremolo bar was not in the package like it was supposed to have. That's ok though as I am still learning. I originally started on a full size acoustic (beginner mistake not measuring) and it was too big for me. I'm 5'1" tall and small framed. My hand width is 4 inches across. The neck fits me perfectly! I can reach all the strings with ease and my hand doesn't get tired. I am still a beginner as I wasn't able to learn very much on the acoustic as it was way too large. I am already back to basic chords on this one! When I got it I made sure to adjust the neck tension (some strings were buzzing when I played), adjusted the bridge and the action, and tuned the whole thing. It holds tune pretty well. My 11 and 10 year old daughters are able to play around on it (which does knock it out of tune of course because they are just messing around and that is ok! They are showing interest in something that isn't a screen and I'm super happy about that!). The amp seems to do well as well, sounds good, is easy to change the settings obviously with the knobs being well labeled. I can hook my phone up to it or I can do the guitar to it also. The guitar is a little heavier than the acoustic I had but that was to be expected, the amp is pretty lightweight as well! Overall I am really happy with this purchase. Why did I give it 4 stars? I liked the Amp better than my $150 15 watt CRATE. It was packed well. All the bundle was there. So what didn't I like? [1]The truss rod adjustment was jammed. It hardly moved. [2] the action at the nut, the strings grazed the frets. The action at the the pickup closest to the bridge was over a 1/4 inch. When tuned to standard tuning the strings had over a 1/4 inch of play. Although I trust and buy Amazon most of the time The one I get to replace this will be bought locally. At least I will get to examine and play before I buy. ... show more

Good value for the money! The strings are on the cheap that come with it. I seem to be having problems keeping it in tune but is probably cause of the new and on the cheap strings. Real wood and very well made for the money. Grandson loved it!

This is garbage. It does not hold a tune and the bridge broke right after the return window. So poorly made. And what a disappointment for a 12 year olds birthday. Seriously avoid the money pit and go buy an actual instrument.

Really good guitar package for the money. The sound is pretty good for a starter amp. The guitar itself is really good. It plays nice, good guitar body, nice sound. And with it being the 3/4 size guitar it works for my oldest daughter really well, since my guitar is still a little too big for her to learn. I really like that it came with a cord, some guitar picks and then a travel bag and amp. Strings are ok, but I switched those out for better quality ones. And just made a small adjustment on the bridge to get a little string raddle out and it plays almost as good as mine. Definitely worth the money, and was a really cool Christmas gift for my daughter. ... show more

    • Intonation is really bad

I bought this guitar for my 9 year old daughter. The size is perfect, the amp works, the guitar looks nice. The frets are quite sharp so I will have to stone them. I am a musician with perfect pitch and the intonation is terrible. The guitar is good enough for her to practice on, but I would have never been able to play it as a kid as I was born with perfect pitch and it would drive me crazy. The cost to redo the frets is not worth it. It's a cheap guitar and she'll out grow it. And then I will just throw it away. ... show more

Bought this for my daughter and it has been the perfect beginner guitar for her. She will out grow it in a year or so but it has been perfect and she has learned so much with it already. Such a value for the price. I highly recommend this for a beginner.
