    • Fine for beginnners
For the price, this was a great saxophone to buy for my 5th grader who expressed an interest in learning the instrument. It was cheaper than renting, and she enjoyed playing it for around a year and a half. However, after that time, the sax started making a weird squeaking sound. We took it to a music shop to repair, but they were not able to fix it. So understand that this is a disposable item, not a quality piece that you'll be able to use for years and years. It served its purpose and got my child through elementary school. Now that they're about to start middle school, they are considering switching to tenor sax, so we may buy another cheap version to repair the broken one so they'll have something to play for end of year concerts and possibly middle school band (if they want to switch between bass and tenor from time to time). ... show more
