One of my friends and I used to travel all over the city to try different teas. I know, it's not like coffee and you can get them online, but we just enjoyed going to local tea stores and trying interesting mixes. I was going to see my friend again so I got this so we can try it out. First off, I love that it's decorated nicely, there's a handmade feeling to it. Also, there's so many different variations we could mak! We could only get through a few in one day but It's been so fun trying to put things together! I thought it might be a bit pricy, but for all the combinations you can make, giftability plus IT'S ALL ORGANIC (delightful surprise) I think it makes sense. I have to admit the teas themselves are not the most top tier of it's kind but they taste just fine! Great, actually - at the end of the day this is more for entertainment and it did the well. This tea set is a lot of fun. There are so many options to play around with to make your own tea blends. The set includes four larger cannisters of tea bases - oolong, white, sencha and black, and also a dozen smaller cannisters to help flavor your tea, like peach, rose, hibiscus and more. NOTE: This is LOOSE TEA! You need a way to brew loose tea if you're going to get this kit. Otherwise you'll end up with tea bits in your cup (no thanks). I brought this box to the office for my own personal use, and my coworkers commented on how fancy it looked. I'm happy to report that the quality inside matches the looks outside. It brews great tasting, flavorful tea, and comes with a lot of varieties for a tea lover to try. Definitely recommended as a gift for the tea drinker in your life. ... show more

This tea set looks very impressive upon opening the box. It would make a great gift for someone who likes tea. I took away one star because it's pricey for what amounts to a small amount of tea. What you are paying for in part is the entertainment and novelty value. Each tea comes in a little copper-colored tin, as does each flavoring. There may be more volume of flavorings than could realistically be used for the amount of tea leaves, but it's also possible to use a few of them with almost on tea leaves (hibiscus and lavender, for instance.) All of the tins are well-sealed with cellophane, upon arrival. Only one of the teas has no caffeine at all, so bear that in mind. For herbal tea drinkers, this will not work. Regarding the flavorings, I found that the peach flavor did not have a very strong aroma, so you may need to use proportionately more flavoring than they suggest to get a noticeable taste. I would definitely keep track of the proportions of each particular tea and flavoring in each "concoction" you make, so you can replicate a good one later. This would be fun for an older person to do with young guests, to have a little tea party with entertainment of making the tea together. This is definitely a good gift. ... show more

I'm trying to branch out in my tea consumption beyond my Tazo favorites and this was a great find. I love all the little screw-top containers, both of the main tea leaves and the infusers. I don't think the price of around $40 is too high, because you can easily waste money on prepared teas you find you don't like, and the last nice loose tea blend I got came in a $30 bottle. This package is also nice for gifting. The one-sheet that comes with this gives you some guidance as to how to prepare the teas; the same info is also on the back of the box. They recommend a 3:1 blend of tea to infuser, but it's up to you to figure how what volume of tea to use and how to physically assemble your blend; some tea producers suggest putting your choices in a bottle and shaking it around before putting it in a teapot, strainer, or ball. (There's a competitor that has fewer tea and infuser options, but comes with a spare container for making a mix.) ... show more

Whether you are a tea lover or know a tea lover, who you can gift this set too, this tea blending set is great. My son & I love to try new teas, so we already have a loose leaf tea infuser. If you don’t have one, you will need one to partake. Wonderful organic tea & flavor infuser options. We made tasty tea on our first try! It is kind of fun to try new combinations too. Wish I knew there was a set like this out there sooner. It is a little pricey, but if you buy loose teas, this is in line with what is out there, but with multiple options. Each tin is clearly marked on the bottom. Comes with directions, tips & options to try. The box design is lovely & the tins have air tight lids to keep everything fresher. Not that I think this will last long for those like us who enjoy tea regularly, but found a little goes further than you would think. Don’t use too much, as steeping does its job. This is really a fun tea set and would make a lovely gift. The packaging is all so pretty, and the little tins are adorable. The set comes with a little information with suggestions on which of the tea ingredients will go best together, but it leaves a lot of room for experimentation up to the user. It has been fun to practice blending different teas, and it makes me feel very witchy, even if the results have not always been the best teas I've ever had. It's not the best price per ounce for good tea, but what you're really getting here is the opportunity to play and have fun with flavor. ... show more
