    • I Gave This Pan a One Star This Morning Now a Five Star Find Out Why
I have a old model of this pan but I thought I would replace it with the new larger handle model. Right off the flake powder stuck to the pan. I wrote to customer service. I got an answer within a few hours telling me it was static electricity. It suggested that I wet it down with Windex which I did on three occasions making sure that the pan was completely dry but it did not work. Powder still stuck to the pan. I wrote back and received an answer within a few hours and it suggested using graphite. I have not done that as yet. I have been buying Lyman products for years and have never had a problem. This is the first item which is truly a disappointment. Don’t waste your money on this item. I just washed this pan in Dawn. Powder does NOT stick to the pan now! It is too bad the Customer Service at Lyman does not know this. Now I can recommend this item. ... show more

    • Static! YOW But it can be fixed.
Very nice design and the inverted funnel is a nice way to get the powder into small cases. HOWEVER, due to bad planning this is made of some plastic that takes/keeps a static charge. So you can never dump all the powder out since it clings to the pan, as much as two-tenths of a grains worth. So not usable. I'll look for one of the same funnel design but made of metal. UPDATE! I found that if you treat the tray with K2r Static Stopper https://www.amazon.com/56670-Static-Stopper-Fresh-Scent/dp/B00U1WRMBM that mostly fixes the problem. I sprayed it, let it sit and wiped it off and then let it dry overnight. I can see that it will have to be re-applied every so often but I've run ~500 so far and it is still OK. So recommended but only if you treat it for static. ... show more

This thing works great with IMR4064 (stick powder) no spills out the side of my .308 Win cases like I've experienced with RCBS' modular funnel deal. Wiped it down with a fabric softener and it was good to go. One annoyance is that it doesn't rest neatly on my RCBS Chargemaster's plate like the metal one that comes with the Chargemaster does. I guess different auto powder measures haven't different size plates and this pan's size accommodates them all? I don't know. You just lose that satisfying feeling of the powder pan sliding right back to the same place every time you dispense powder. When it comes to reloading, I believe consistency is key. Are my charge weights being affected if the pan isn't dead center on the plate? Maybe by a small amount, but not by an amount the Chargemaster can detect, from what I've seen. So for me, the time saved by not having to use a separate funnel (and the higher probablity of spills as I've experienced with other funnels) outweighs the charge weight scatter based on where the pan is placed on the plate ... if there is any. ... show more
