- All our coffees are roasted in the craft coffee style meaning small batch and frequent roasting to ensure the freshest coffee possible and each bean being roasted to bring out the unique flavor of its soil. We rarely roast dark and when we do are very careful not to roast out the unique taste of the bean's origin.
- Our coffee beans can be used for any type of coffee drink be it pour overs (our favorite), drip coffee, espresso, or cold brew. Heck french press it and make a punchy espresso martini. But remember each bean will taste different so try them all!
- Coffee for a better world. All our coffee farmers are environmentally and socially conscious. Our farmers regenerate the soils, rebuild rainforests, work in small farm coops, follow organic and fair trade practices, some even use drought resistant beans to regreen the desert!
- We are majority Native woman of color owned and are a small, family run business roasting small batch out of historic Dexter, MI a rural town known for its farming and craft community

I bought this coffee because the seller advertised it as a finalist at the Cup of Excellence coffee competition. Cup of Excellence tasting boards have some reputation as being quite independent and objective. I did not research whether that claim was true and tried to give it a chance, being on the search of the elusive fruity flavor of high end Ethiopian coffee. I was not disappointed! The coffee has indeed markable dried red cherry tones (or however you want to describe it) which comes with truly excellent Ethiopian coffee. For that price, it is a spectacular find (I ordered another bag right away).

I recently tried Lunar Coffee Labs' organic heirloom Ethiopian coffee, and let me tell you, it's amazing! This coffee was a finalist in the Cup of Excellence competition, and it's easy to see why. The sun-dried beans have these incredible fruity and floral flavors that are unique to Ethiopian coffee. When you open the bag, you get this wonderful aroma of fresh berries; the taste is just as sweet and juicy. Lunar Coffee Labs is a family-owned roastery in Dexter, Michigan, and they're all about providing the freshest coffee by sourcing premium beans from eco-friendly farmers around the world. I had fallen into a coffee rut. After years of Coffee Snobbery, only accepting and drinking the best coffees I could find, I fell into a "convenience rut", waking up in the morning and dropping a pod in K-Cup machine. As far from coffee snobbery as I could get. I recently decided I needed good coffee added back into my daily routine. I loved an Ethiopian coffee I used to get from another location but they stopped selling it. So I orderd some Ethiopian from elsewhere on Amazon. It just wasn't the same. Not bad, but not "oh hell, this good". So I ordered Lunar Coffee Lab Heirloom Organic Ethiopia Coffee - Medium Light Roast. First cup? I had fully gotten my coffee snobbery back on. Wow, this is fantastic. Not only is Ethiopian Coffee from the Sidamo region the coffee I had been looking for, how it is prepared by Lunar Coffee Lab makes sure what winds up in your cup is indeed Coffee Snobbery at its finest.

I enjoyed the Lunar Labs Ethiopia blend! As soon as my bag arrived and I opened it, you could smell blueberries galore in the best way! I prepared mine with a French press and drank it black. I’m not a coffee connoisseur, but this was my favorite cup of coffee in awhile. Not too astringent. Incredibly smooth. Looking forward to trying more from the brand!
