Lumos began on the streets of Boston. It’s where we first fell in love with cycling as a way to get around. Except that it always felt like we were putting our lives in someone else’s hands every time we went on the road. We always felt that people (drivers especially) didn’t see us, especially at night. We created Lumos because we were trying to solve a problem that we were experiencing in our own life. NTA 8776-certified protection designed for e-bike riding and higher-speed commutes. TÜV-verified front and rear lighting helps make your presence easier to notice day and night. Comfortable, versatile, and ready for everyday rides through the city. What makes this helmet different from a standard bike helmet? The Lumos Ultra E-Bike Helmet combines NTA 8776-certified protection, built-in front and rear lights, turn signals, automatic brake lights, and a retractable face shield in one commuter-ready design. Is the face shield removable? No. The face shield is built into the helmet and is not designed to be removed. It can slide up or down, so you can adjust it based on your riding conditions. Does it have automatic brake lights and turn signals? Yes. The helmet includes turn signals and automatic brake lights to help communicate your movement more clearly on the road, especially during city rides and e-bike commutes. Is it easy to adjust the fit? Yes. The helmet features an adjustable fit system to help you find a secure, comfortable fit. We recommend measuring your head circumference before purchase and checking the size guide. How do I adjust the light settings? You can adjust the light modes using the helmet buttons as described in the user guide. For easier control, you can also download the Lumos app to adjust brightness, light modes, and other lighting settings from your phone. Helmet came in good condition as it is brand new and it’s very functional since I have a E-bike and I take it 2-3 times a week to have fun in the sun. The helmet does provide high end safety even when going on the roads and has good funding as provided with the button. As for price it’s good money if you want to spend that but be sure to save for it. The fitting is good as it has a magnetic chin strap easy to wear and take off. It has a good appearance as it looks like a sci-fi helmet and the lighting is good as it shines bright at night and obviously easy for vehicles to see. As for the sound it’s good to let you know that it’s on in case you forgot to turn that button off. The helmet, while expensive, is certainly worth it. It fits well, it well-vented, and gives a certain peace of mind knowing it has MIPS in the event of a higher speed crash, and ample, varied lighting patterns for added visibility. I thankfully have NOT crash tested it, but can say it is attractive, charges quickly and well worth it. The magnetic strap connection is taking some getting used to but I’ll get there. I love everything but the face shield. It’s plastic, scratches easily and fogs up if you’re wearing anything to keep your face warm. However, I noticed an immediate improvement in visibility. I can see better, and traffic can see me blocks sooner. The 4 lights I got with it are excellent, too. They work great as headlights, blinkers, and brake lights. And they have multiple ways to connect to your bike, so you’re sure to find a good fit. ... show more

We bought two Lumos Ultra E-Bike Smart Helmet MIPS, a blue one and a gray one. They are very sharp-looking helmets with integrated lighting and turn signals that are great for safety and also easy to use. The shields are a great addition for eye protection, and the helmet fit is easy to adjust on the fly. The air vents provide good air flow which keeps one cool in the heat, and we also bought the helmet liners that keep one warm on cooler days. This helmet is just Awesome and a must have for any time of the day but especially at night, the lights are very bright and paired with the app you can control the lighting effects also one thing I love about it it’s that you can set the switch to be a speed sensor so when the sensor senses that you’re slowing down it will cause the lights on the back of the helmet to fast flash to advice you’re slowing down like a car does. I’m very satisfied with the fit and functionality of this helmet and it has become my favorite helmet and Worth every penny. This helmet was way over my budget. I’m 81 and just bought a n ebike. I knew with a faster and heavier bike I would be more prone to falls. I loved the quality and features of the helmet but when I had my fall on the pavement the design and protection was worth the price AND MORE!

I was excited to buy this helmet, but I wear prescription glasses and didn't want the face shield. Before I purchased the helmet, I emailed customer service to see if the visor could be removed. They assured me that it could. I went ahead and purchased the helmet, and, although the visor did fit over my glasses, the face shield is a cheap plastic (as other reviewers have mentioned), and distorted my vision. "No problem," I thought, "I'll just go ahead and remove it." Here's what I learned: 1. The side signal lights are attached to the face shield. I assumed that unscrewing the tiny screws that appeared to attach the lights to the face shield would allow me to remove the face shield - but no. Apparently the face shield is glued to the side lights on one edge, so I could not detach the face shield (picture of face shield below). 2. If I decided to completely remove the face shield with the side lights, there would have been a big hole on each side of the helmet (picture of helmet below). 3. Subsequent emails to customer support (which I often had to wait a week to receive a response) indeed confirmed that some of the lights would not work if I removed the visor. Back to Amazon it went, and I won't ever consider another Lumos product. ... show more
