The desk definitely has its perks but it's limited with regards to real estate. I ended up with two of them to ensure I separate work and play. Pros; unique characteristics offers small stand that can be applied to multiple uses. Cons: somewhat small -The picture looks like both sides can be used fully ,one side is pretty tight. The Independent stand has its perks but the picture shows that it can hold a laptop, yeah it can, but it's got to be a small laptop. should be considered a left-hand or right hand scribe area per se. I did some soft alterations, for starters I rose them all up using furniture risers 4 in for a high chair I doubled them up in a horseshoe shape so that I can turn around tinker after work. Prior to purchase I submitted a question the manufacturer or seller stated that if you purchase two desks you can make multiple combinations, however trying to map everything out with the interlinking rails and threaded inserts and cross ties you would need to seriously re-engineer the design and I didn't have time for that nor did the seller provide more information on expanding the desks. That's not a deal breaker I didn't specifically ask, but they should make that an option for combining and expanding the desks. Some feedback to the manufacturer; have a taller option for desks, is applicable start identifying and advertising desk combinations and expansions it would be a unique feature to "grow" a desk. Great sturdy item. Tricky to assemble. Pay particular attention to layout and configuration of different options. Make sure holes on legs and such are all aligned exactly according to pictures or you will have to un-assemble and start over. Instructions could be much clearer. Found 1 typo error when trying to assemble and had to "wing it"...Nonetheless it worked out and I'm very happy with my purchase ... show more

This desk is very nice. I put mine in one long line instead of an L shape. Live that the monitor shelf does not have to be permanent. Only wish? The shelves had some kind of backing or brace so your books or whatever u have would fall off the back Lol. Hard to reach when things fall. Other than that I would purchase again for sure. Many parts were missing ID stickers so it was a guessing game and puzzle. It took hubby and I about 4 hours to put this desk together by trial and error because ID stickers were missing or fell off in transit. In the end, it looks nice and we are still married, so a win. Fairly simple to assemble with nice metal frames and shelves with already pre-inserted nuts for real screws they provide. (Not the usual cheap round inserts that you have to turn with a screw driver). Have to take care to get the two main shelves correct as they are not the same due to lack of identical pair of holes for screws. Overall, the desk is great for the value. It was very confusing to put together. The photos do not show the hole placement as you are on that particular step. Two or three steps after you assemble, you become aware of the other holes and have to take it apart and reassemble. It took longer than I would have liked.
