I love the quality of these jars. The thick glass means they can go in the dishwasher, fridge and freezer. I came across them when trying to reduce the plastic and silicone in the house. The closing mechanism means none of that horrible glass-on-glass sound that you can get with more traditional style preserving jars with metal and glass lid systems. However the packaging from Amazon was appalling. The glsss lid was smashed into several pieces in delivery. as it was shipped without a box, without wrapping around the jar, and without a fragile label. It was simply placed in a large envelope with lots of room to move around and break. Amazing it made it out of the warehouse intact. What a waste of a quality item and scarce resources. ... show more

The Lock Eat line of glassware by Luigi Bormioli are fantastic. They are well crafted and have easy to operate clamps that are attached to the lid only so you have nice, aesthetically pleasing serving vessels that can be microwaved. The glass feels substantial. Unfortunately, the listings for many of these have errors, skewing the ratings because folks are upset (and rightly so) because they aren't getting 6 sets. This listing is only for ONE jar.
