Luer Lock is a very popular needle/syringe interface. Being able to transfer material directly from one syringe to another is an operation which I've never performed. However, having the capability to do so seemed attractive. So, these fittings were ordered. The package was delivered in 11 days. Which was significantly earlier than originally expected. The individually packaged fittings were safe and sound inside their factory box. Each fitting is approximately 1/4" in diameter and 3/4" long. Not surprisingly, they appear to be made from plastic which is similar to the material used to manufacture syringes. When I tried different syringes of various sizes, the fittings performed as expected: Very easy to connect and no leaks. Also, if you have no material to transfer, two empty syringes can be connected in order to demonstrate hydraulics. When plunger A is depressed, plunger B moves outward. Larger diameter syringes have greater influence on those with smaller diameters and vice versa. The effect can be measured using the graduations on the two syringes. These fittings are a great idea. At 25 cents each, in lots of 100, they may seem a little pricey. However, given the potential time savings along with the spillage and contamination avoidance, I'd have to say they are a bargain. ... show more

These are extremely useful little fittings that allow you to seamlessly transfer fluids between syringes.
