Unless you want to crack this table while assembling it, I highly recommend you use a rubber mallet. One cannot push the male/female connector points together without a hammer. In addition to using a rubber mallet, I cushioned each hammer/hit with a foam-terry covered buffing cloth I had on had. Even using those two precautions, one small area of the table did crack but it didn't compromise the table and I don't think it's visible unless you know where to look. Other reviewers mentioned their table didn't have holes for the screws but mine did. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being "the worst", the frustration factor for me putting this shelf together was a 6. The instructions were minimally adequate and it was actually trial-and-error that worked for me. I'll try to report back as the durability of the table/shelf after I've used it for a while. I don't plan on storing heavy items on it - just bathroom articles.

Best piece of furniture I've ever assembled. Mines did come with a slight chip in the wood but I didn't feel like sending it back. Check your pieces before you start assembling.

Once you figure out how it snaps together (hope you like puzzles) it's a nice table and attractive.

It’s really weird to put together - like a puzzle, kind of. You just fit the pieces together. At first I thought it was brilliant, but it really isn’t very sturdy. It’ll get the job done, but be weary.

Looks good and easy to assemble. I use it at work in the office bathroom. Perfect for what we need, but not made to hold a lot of heavy items.

This is not the material I expected. However for the value it’s ok. It’s smaller than I thought it would be. No tools needed. Hope it holds up.
