So I've been using this in 2 cars for the last 6 weeks. A 2019 Honda Civic 1.5L and a 2016 BMW 528i 2L. Both cars very well maintained. Starting with the Honda the first tank of gas I put in 6 oz. Overall the car was running pretty good before the treatment but would shake at stop lights at times to a point of putting the car in neutral just so I wouldn't feel it. Didn't notice much of an improvement after the first tank. Second tank cut back to 4oz. Started to feel some results. No more shakes and hold the rpm to a steady 600. Third tank and the car is running the best it has in3 years. The BMW I just bought 3 months ago 84k miles in very good condition but was a bit rough and noisy running. First tank 8oz in and I could feel some things happening. Slightly better running. Second tank, 6oz in. Like the Honda the improvements began. I started to get a odd burning smell at times. No leaks so no worries. 3rd tank and still running better with the smell sometimes. I'm pretty sure carbon is burning off and that's what the smell is. I'm seeing what looks like soot on my chrome tips at times. No doubt the car starts faster and runs smoother now. I'm very interested to see how it runs after another couple tanks. Overall this stuff is a great value but don't expect instant results and I wouldn't recommend using it as a one and done. Buy a gallon and add it to the gas for at least 6 tanks of gas. Your motor didn't go bad in 400 miles and bringing it back will take some time too.

I have a 1988 Toyota Pickup w/230,000 miles, and it recently decided it was not going to start. I believe it was either trash in the carburetor or water in the fuel from a previous fill up. FYI, I rarely let the tank get below 1/4 full, so there should have been no issue as it was over 1/4 when this happened. After several minutes of cranking and getting an extremely rough cough and spit from the engine over multiple attempts, I managed to get it started. The running was extremely rough even after it started and for the 18 mi. trip to my preferred auto parts dealer. I looked at the Lucas Gas treatment available there and thought nothing about it considering the size was only 5.25oz. or 155ml. When the sale was made, I was told I could get two for just over $10.00; I said, "how much is one, in a shocked tone". and he stated it would be $5.79 w/tax included. I figured I better try only one as I had never tried it before and relying on marketing hype could not convince me to buy more than one. So to make a long story short, I put it in the tank and went to fill up with fresh gas less than a mile away and still sputtering all the way getting there. Miraculously, within 2 miles of filling up and after applying the small bottle of treatment just prior to the fillup, the misfiring and rough running stopped and the truck began to run like it should. It had more response to the gas pedal on acceleration and I drove it another 15 miles to my next destination without further coughing, spitting, acceleration delays, etc.. Later that evening it started right up for the trip home. Now I cannot testify for sure that the treatment solved the issue, but it sure made it run much better afterward, so I bought a few gallons here on Amazon after doing price comparisons and not wanting to run around town checking everyone else's price levels. If you do the math, however, you will note that the price difference in buying a gallon, (128oz.) or (3.765L) -vs- 5.25oz. or 155ml., you would see that I get approximately 24 treatments out of a gallon which equates to over $120.00+ in the same amount if I buy the smaller bottles. Now subtract the current price of this gallon ($120.00/ml size -minus- $25.00/gal) (rounded off for simplicity) you would see that to buy it in the gallon size is the smarter choice. I see many here have done so, so I am not in this alone seeing the cost savings and benefits. Even with the taxes paid, it more than justifies buying the larger quantity. The smaller bottles are definitely not "Cheaper by the dozen". The reviews here helped me decide and perhaps mine will convince someone else also. As of now, Lucas has won me over. Let's hope it isn't just a coincidence that everything ran smoothly after it was used. I will give the product the benefit of any doubt unless proven otherwise. I already know what my miles-per-gallon is, as I've been tracking it for years. Perhaps it will help with that also, but only time will tell.

I’ve been using this in my vehicles for over 20 years. My 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche Z71, with a 5.3L engine runs as smooth as a sewing machine. This vehicle uses zero oil in between oil changes. It idles so smooth at traffic lights that you can barely tell that the engine is running. During Covid this vehicle sat parked for nearly two years. When we started driving it again it ran perfectly; even with two year old fuel in it. A true testament of the fuel conditioning aspect.

I use this in all my diesel engines. It keeps system clean and helps lubricate top end. I have been told that my top end is one of the cleanest my mechanic has seem. I use this every fill up. Works for me and I trust lucas brand.

Followed directions for use and product works as advertised. I use it regularly on a high mileage car and miles per gallon has improved enough for me. Just buy a 7oz bottle and refill from the can to use when filling tank.
