Item has a nice modern look to it, the directions were a little bit lacking but if you are a DIY'er then it wont be a problem. The shelf is surprisingly sturdy.     • Great design and look. Needs better installation instructions

I really like the design of these floating shelves. Very good quality. I have installed three of the 4' and two of the 2' model. I got the installation process figured out by the third one since the instructions are not very detailed. (Minus half star) I drilled holes in the mounting bracket in order to put two screws into wall studs. The predrilled holes don't always line up. The twist in anchors are good for drywall but don't work with paneling. The other push-in style anchors tend to spin or go in too far and don't get tight. (Minus half star) The double sided tape needs to go about 3/4 the way down the back edge of the glass shelf with the rest of the tape on the top of the shelf. The instructions aren't clear on this. If the tape is only on top, not all of it goes under the bracket. After putting the tape on the shelf, insert the shelf into the bracket with the front raised to at about a 30-45° angle. Push firmly to seat the shelf into the back of the bracket then lower the front. If the screws aren't tight, the shelf won't go back far enough. ... show more

GREAT shelf unit! works perfectly, easy to install and beautiful! i'm using it to support a 50 lb+ center channel speaker...looks great...as if hanging in midair. installed with molly bolts on drywall/metal stud wall. home depot carries this unit...but ONLY online, and shipping is expensive AND it takes 7-10 days to process the order. with amazon, i selected $3.99 next day shipping, and even though the page said it would be 3-5 days, i had the package in 3 days! i couldn't be more satisfied! ... show more

Placed it on the wall beneath our 47" flat screen TV, which is wall mounted high in the corner in our bedroom. The purpose for the floating glass shelf was to hold the DVD/VHS player and the local cable company's HDMI tuner box just below the bottom of the TV. Looks clean, compact and organized.

Installation was easy - would recommend trying to hit at least one stud while placing the rest with the included wallboard mounts. Stays in place because there is a small strip of adhesive running the length of the mounting bracket. Well engineered.
