Description

The LS2 Valiant II 180-degree flip, modular motorcycle helmet. Building upon the success of the original Valiant, LS2 has again pushed the envelope of technological development. A newly designed chin bar mechanism is smaller and slimmer than the original, making for a more aerodynamic shell. The lightweight, aerodynamic shell is made from LS2's proprietary Kinetic Polymer Alloy (KPA). This proprietary material uses nanotechnology to blend microscopic particles of aramid fibers into a high-end polymer. This material is absolute state-of-the-art in energy management materials, offering a bit of built-in flexibility to disperse energy, the penetration resistance of high- end fiber products, and a lightweight shell. 2 shell sizes to allow for a perfect fit and the smallest shell possible. A full metal latch assures the chin bar will stay locked when closed, and an LS2 exclusive design keeps the chin bar securely in place at the back of the helmet when it is in the open position. The UV and scratch resistant shield uses optically correct Class A polycarbonate and is PinLock ready for the maximum in fog protection. LS2 designed a new quick change shield mechanism for the Valiant II, making swapping shields a breeze. The Valiant II uses our Twin Shield System drop down sun shield. Its cable-operated switch is smooth, and easy to use even with a gloved hand. The removable, washable comfort padding uses breathable technical fabric, which is "Thermo-Formed." Our cheek pads use ultra-high- quality foam that is cut to shape using LS2’s 3D laser technology for all day comfort and no hot spots. Fully adjustable, flow through ventilation keeps you cool and more in control when the weather gets rough. Built in our own factory for the best value on the market. More helmet for less cash. LS2. Long oval fit. DOT approved. Meets the FMVSS 218 Standard, product also meets requirements imposed by the California Air Resources Board (CARB)

  • INCREDIBLE HELMET
I got the silver/titanium color. It's so much nicer in person than the pictures, or than I could have imagined. Chin guard moves and locks into place like butter. Sun visor moves like butter, and DROPS DOWN ALL THE WAY!! Peripheral vision is great, and you have a good field if view vertically. Includes pinlock. I couldn't get the smallest amount of fog on the visor no matter how hard i tried. In addition to the pinlock, the chin guard has the flap on the bottom that blocks the wind and helps keep the heat in and dust out. Another weather oriented design that surprised me is that the visor sits on this of the chin guard. You must lift the visor out of the way to lift the chin guard, but this will hello keep rain out - which is the number one reason I am replacing my ILM modular. I'll get used to flipping the visor up. Includes the usual bag, but this is a nice thick one that might actually protect it and last a while. Also includes the camo backpack in addition to the typical bag. That's really cool. Also included an inflatable neck thing to support the weight of the helmet in long trips. I will definitely be using that. I usually wear a medium. It's a little tight, maybe I should have ordered a large. I'm sure it will break in. It's hands down the fanciest helmet I've ever put on my head. Best modular I've seen and I've worn most of them. I'm glad I didn't buy the shark. ... show more

  • Good Helmet but . . . (Updated)
First, the Amazon bad: Someone must have been in the package. When the helmet was delivered it was in the backpack, sliding around inside a big generic box. There were no instructions, neither was there a dark face shield. Fortunately the Pinlock was also sliding around in the box. I guess it's possible the original box was torn up and in the process things were lost. Regardless it's unfortunate that I didn't get the complete package. The Helmet itself: As some have said, it isn't a 'quiet' helmet. It is louder than the Shark it's replacing. Beyond that it is very nice. Fit and finish are good. The tab on the face shield used to open it is in an odd location, top center. It's only odd because I'm not used to it. On my four day trip to break it in I got used to reaching for my forehead to open the shield. The lever to lower the internal dark shield is easy to find and operate. Some expressed concerns with the release for the chin bar. I have had no issue operating it with summer or heavy winter gloves. Haven't had any rain yet so I can't speak to the seal on the face shield. I don't know if it can be adjusted (since I didn't get any instructions). I'll have to look online to see if it's possible. Overall, a nice helmet Update: contacted the manufacturer and told them of the missing part. They quickly sent out a dark shield to replace the missing one. Apparently they don’t create instructions any more since they sent a series of links (that didn’t provide any info) but they tried. So thumbs up to the manufacturer. Amazon didn’t respond to the issue though. ... show more

  • versitile and comfortable
This is the third LS2 Valiant I have bought for my wife, and she absolutely loves it. The helmet's versatility is phenomenal and she raves about the comfort level of the helmet. Unlike most "round" helmets you do not get a lot of chin lift or head wobble even at speeds approaching 110mph. I recommend trying the hemet in-store as the fit and sizing can be a little finicky, and it is one of the lesser forgiving helmet shapes. I have a very round head and the model fits me very poorly, and creates hot spots on the top and sized of my head (even when sized properly). In all, its a great helmet (if it fits your head), and you will not be upset with the breathability or longterm wearability. She has been wearing them for 3+ years averaging over 10k miles per year. ... show more

  • More than you expect More than you expect
Purchased this for my wife because her old helmet communication system was acting up again. This was her pick. Here is what you get : Of course this beautiful helmet. You get a Backpack for your helmet. There is an inflatable helmet support pillow, tinted shield, anti fog insert, LS2 red and black cloth bag with yellow stripes. About the helmet: when you get it make sure to use the tab on the top of the shield to open the visor. You must do this to open the modular part. To open the modular part look directly under the front center of the modular. Push the button fully up. The modular section will release and push up. It folds most of the way back. There are more vents on this helmet than the other ones we have. The interior of the helmet is very comfortable. It fits snuggly just how it is designed. It has the internal flip down tinted shield. There is also the quick release helmet buckle. This is a great helmet, don't pass it by. Definitely worth the money. LS2 has nailed it again. ... show more

  • Nice helmet. Slightly small.
I really like this helmet. I had a single piece full face helmet for over 30 years but had always wanted a modular helmet. When I read that this one also had a built-in sun visor I decided to try it. I measured my head and it came to 59.75 cm so I bought the 59-60 (large) It was too tight so I returned it for the 61-62 ( x-large) cm. That fits better in the head and temple area, but is still a little snug in the cheeks, but not uncomfortable. These helmets are for oval heads ( I think) and mine is closer to circular. I almost went with the 2x, but you don't want the helmet loose on your head. While it seems to be a little noisier than my older Bell, it does seem to let in sound from cars coming up from behind. That weirded me out at first, but you get used to it. I have a full windshield so I don't get a lot of wind noise. If you ride without a windshield you may not hear the cars coming up. In any case, don't rely on that for making lane change decisions. I used the helmet a few times with the temperature in the 50 F and it was warm. You don't get a lot of air flow through the vents, but as I said I ride with a windshield. ... show more

  • You need this helmet in your life! You need this helmet in your life!
I have searched for years for the one perfect helmet and I think I have found it with the Valiant II. As you can see from the picture I have many other helmets and a few of them are okay, but not as likable as this one including my $700 Shoei RF-1400. Yes the Shoei is better constructed but then it also costs three times as much, and yes it has less noise but if your riding a motorcycle and don't want noise you should be questioning your choices. I have had Shoei, HJC, Sena, Sedicii plus another of others I've the years and I am by far loving the Valiant II the most. I just went out for my first ride with it, and it is December 9th and 32 degrees outside with the standing windchill, so riding it is much colder. Here are the things I really like about the helmet. 1. Comes with both a clear and smoke shield 2. The drop down sun visor is fantastic and appears to be polarized. I have NEVER.seen this before. 3. There is near zero wind buffering when riding at any speed. Even with the face shield up there is a little more but still nominal. 4. The 180 degree conversion is 🔥 5. It is set up to add a comms unit if you want. 6. It is lighter than most helmets including my Shoei. 7. It is still very well constructed, I feel safe with it. 8. It is within a price point for most riders to avoid. It is inexpensive not cheaply made. They obviously focused on the ride experience. 9. Even with the helmet closed you have full field of vision. 10. The drop down sun visor is about a third larger than any I have ever used before which is going to cause less buffering and protect your face better from bugs and rocks. This is the longest review I have ever written. I have taken the time to do that because I am so impressed with this product that I want you to feel comfortable purchasing it without testing it first. This will probably be the only helmet I use in the future. One thing to note is my typical helmet size is XL. These appear to run a little small, and while I am sure an XL would work, for me my head is on the higher size of XL bordering XXL. What I am saying is that if your head is between sizes you should purchase the larger size; in my case XXL. This way you are going to be more comfortable. Regardless of how much you ride; I ride about 20K miles per year. This helmet will take you through all four seasons, and all of the elements. I can't wait for hot weather to see how the well the ventilation works. If I remember I will update my findings on this review. Sell all your helmets and buy this one. You won't regret it. ... show more

  • Good but very loud
I've had an original black LS2 for about a year. I like most everything about it except for 2 things. It didn't come with a pinlock and the front padding is such that it always leaves a line indent down the middle of my forehead for a while after riding. So I wanted a new one in white and decided on the LS2 2. While it does have some good things: They restructured the padding on the front so the seam is not right in the middle causing that line on your head. Also, it came with a pinlock. That was awesome because from what I can see, if you buy it separately it's about $45. The helmet also has the same fell and visual/peripheral vision from what I can tell and the shade visor is dark just like the original. Now for the bad part. It's very loud. At about 40mph the wind noise starts. At 50 it's all over. Loud. The problem is, the venting doesn't close. There's one vent switch on the chin guard and on each side for the top. But the top switches only close one of the 3 slits. There are also vents behind the ears on the back corners of the helmet and in the middle on the back. They don't close. Most of the wind noise is around my ears. I'm going to have to try some rigging with duct tape on the inside of the vents to see if that helps. 2nd issue: The chin guard release button is different than the original. You have to push up and it takes some getting used to. Felt like it was stuck a few times which send me into borderline claustrophobic panic. Anyway, LS2 makes a good helmet but wish I would have bought the original. Probably too late since I've worn it out riding. ... show more
