  • Best of Both Worlds!
I was a bit hesitant to spend this type of money on a helmet because there's cheaper options out there. However, I was looking for something truly convertible because I like to ride both Open and Full Face depending on the condition or situation. Most modulars are just flip up type which are kind of ugly and add to weird airflow around your head when it's in the flipped up position. I was intrigued by the design of this helmet....and when I received it I was not disappointed. The chin bar truly flips 180 degrees, clearing the visor and tucks away neatly and aerodynamically around the back of the helmet, so you an ride open face without affecting airflow or looking like a complete goof. The helmet is comfortable and light. I love the chin strap. My head measures 23 1/2 - which is the upper range of a Large. I went up a size to an XL and I'm glad I did. I have a round head - it fits me very snug and when the chin bar is down it is REALLY snug on the cheeks. I'm hoping it doesn't loosen up too much after the foam breaks in. Couple of nice surprises....in addition to the standard helmet bag it came with a camo colored helmet backpack. It came with a pinlock anti fog shield insert. It also has nice deep pockets at the ears to put intercom speakers without affecting fit at all. I'd definitely recommend this to those who like to go both open face and full face at different times.....this truly gives you the best of both worlds with a very sleek 180 flip mechanism. Like I said in the beginning - I was heisitant spending over $300 on a helmet - however I feel like I got 2 helmets in one with this! ... show more

  • Near Perfect for me
First, order the next size larger than you normally wear. Still just a little tight at the cheeks for my preference. Buttoned up it's pretty quiet and warm and can crack the face shield open and locked at about 1/4 inch for air. Chin guard flips back 180° (Doesn't stick straight up like a sail) and can still drop the face shield or just use internal sun visor. When it gets dark I just raise the internal sun visor and drop the shield. GoPro mounted on chin guard gets rear view video when chin guard is flipped back (Upside down so need to right it with editing software). Sena has to be mounted a little further back to clear the internal visor up-down slide but installed easily and deeper speaker depressions made for great sounding music. Need to use the boom mic on modulars but works fine off to the side. ... show more

  • Great helmet
Size: Medium Color: Gloss Battleship Gray
This is my second LS2 Valiant II helmet. This one is a replacement. I was T-boned on my motorcycle and ended up sliding about 20 yards many of which was on the side of my head. This helmet stood up to the impact and the slide amazingly. I love the modularity that I can change on the fly without removing or replacing parts as I go. ... show more

  • No DOT sticker
Size: 3X-Large Color: Gloss White
Disclaimer. I'm the husband and this is my wife let's acciunt. This particular helmet doesn't have a DOT FMVSS NO. 210 CERTIFIED sticker. It's illegal to ride in the United States without it. I'll have to return it considering the company that shipped it is based in the Netherlands. This is something that should be disclosed in the description. I gave one star due to the lack not having DOT and not the quality of the helmet. I own 2 of the original LS2 Valiant helmets and I desired to upgrade. It's also true that the helmets run small. On the 1st version I wore a XXL. I ordered the Valiant II in both a XXL from a another provider and a XXXL from Amazon. The internal cheek pads were tighter than anticipated on the XXL that gave me chipmunk cheeks. I wore it around the house for about 15 minutes and it became uncomfortable and minor pressure points developed over time. I didn't experience this with the XXXL. In closing, it's disappointing that I'll have to return this helmet. It's hard to find the newer version on a XXXL. I'll be calling the manufacturer in the morning to see if I have any options of obtaining a U.S. version under a warranty claim. ... show more

  • Great Helmet For Round or Medium Oval Head
Great helmet. I love the versatility being able to flip open and ride open face at slow to medium speed or close it for full face at high speed. The helmet is much quieter than my last helmet too. The shield is much closer to my face than recent helmets I've owned but not a big deal. The sun shield comes down low which is awesome. The helmet comes with a nice quality shoulder bag in case you ever fly and ride. My only complaint is the fact it designed for an oval or medium oval head. I normally wear a Large in a long oval helmet but I had to order an XL and still make modifications to the foam with a Drexel tool. Obviously, that is not ideal but it gave me major pressure on my forehead and headaches. I recommend this helmet if you are looking for a modular with the ability to ride open face or full face. ... show more

  • Nice helmet. Slightly small.
I really like this helmet. I had a single piece full face helmet for over 30 years but had always wanted a modular helmet. When I read that this one also had a built-in sun visor I decided to try it. I measured my head and it came to 59.75 cm so I bought the 59-60 (large) It was too tight so I returned it for the 61-62 ( x-large) cm. That fits better in the head and temple area, but is still a little snug in the cheeks, but not uncomfortable. These helmets are for oval heads ( I think) and mine is closer to circular. I almost went with the 2x, but you don't want the helmet loose on your head. While it seems to be a little noisier than my older Bell, it does seem to let in sound from cars coming up from behind. That weirded me out at first, but you get used to it. I have a full windshield so I don't get a lot of wind noise. If you ride without a windshield you may not hear the cars coming up. In any case, don't rely on that for making lane change decisions. I used the helmet a few times with the temperature in the 50 F and it was warm. You don't get a lot of air flow through the vents, but as I said I ride with a windshield. ... show more
