Description
LS2 assaults the competition with the class-leading Assault Helmet. The Assault shell is constructed from LS2's Kinetic Polymer Alloy (KPA), a lightweight strong composite material, and is paired with a multi-density EPS liner into three shell sizes. The interior comfort liner uses a high-tech fabric that wicks moisture, dries quickly and is fully removable and washable. The comfort pads are pre-curved using LS2’s 3D laser technology for all-day comfort and no hot spots. Large, adjustable vents on the chin bar and at the top of the helmet work in conjunction with the rear spoiler and side venturi vents to offer adjustable, dynamic flow-through ventilation. The eye port is wide and houses an optically correct, Pinlock ready faceshield (lens insert sold separately). DOT approved. Meets the FMVSS 218 Standard, product also meets requirements imposed by the California Air Resources Board (CARB)

I picked the red chilli pepper matte helmet. It's a first for me and I used recommendations from friends who are veteran riders as well as a friend who does racing and has years experience, i used their guidance to pick the right fitting as they described "if it's able to fit my head but pushes my cheek into my brain it's good when new". The helmet style was a personal choice I really loved the red matte color of this but I honestly do not care for the graphic on it, would have loved it more if it was straight plain red matte color. The helmet for myself I picked medium based on measurements recommended for my head size which was 22.5". I love all the little vent features this helmet has as well as the included extra visor piece for anti fog, it has a fairly simple inner shade drop visor that is easily accessible from the side of the mask it was easy to drop or raise it when wearing gloves, the helmet comes with a kind of cheap but useful storage bag, easy to remove the visor if needed for replacing or other reasons one may need to remove it. It's an overall simple helmet I have yet to use and I tried to get as many pictures in for other to see any missed out details the product images doesn't provide. Some reviews mentioned it has space to add in a speaker or com inside but I was not able to check this out for sure but will update in future one I get a good use of this mask. UPDATE: after a month of use I can say this is a great helmet the vents work well enough that I can open them to get air flow into the helmet to keep cool as well as in high speed. The fitting is still snug but padding has broken in well enough to fit on comfortably unlike when I first would put it on. Really love this helmet I have customized the painting by adding my own graphics to it really love this helmet will be getting another one of these in their other colors.

Update: After some more riding and a little testing I found the wind noise was due to a couple small gaps between my chin and the chin curtain. No fault of the helmet, I have a small chin. I'm looking for an extended chin curtain or other solution for my unique case. Other than my one, personal issue, this is a good helmet and glad I made the purchase. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First, let me say I have only been riding with this helmet about 200 miles. Fit: I think it fits well and is comfortable to wear. I wear glasses, and both pairs fit just fine. The helmet does a good job of holding the glasses in place without pressing too hard. I'm sure the helmet padding will break in more and, most likely, get even more comfortable. Noise: I do think there is a lot of noise coming through this helmet; in both bad and good ways. With the visor open, it's not bad, but close the visor and you get a chamber of wind noise. I have always had both vents on the helmet open, and that might make a difference so I will have to test it with the vents closed. On the plus side, I get to hear everything around me. I can hear the stock exhaust on my fairly quite Honda. I can hear sirens, horns, and even loud tires on some cars. The high fidelity ear plugs designed to attenuate, but not degrade sound. The work fairly well, but the wind noise is still more than I would prefer. Still. I like the helmet and do not plan on purchasing another until necessary

Once I learned about head shapes, I realized my previous helmet was round and my head was medium oval, which was causing the headaches. Most helmets online don't even mention head shape. This helmet does, and by choosing the right head shape, the headaches are a thing of the past, and the helmet fits snug and properly, not flopping around on my head, held on only by the chinstrap. If your helmet is not properly fitted, you may as well not be wearing one at all. And if it causes headaches, then that kills the joy of riding. The flip-down sun visor is pretty handy, as I don't have to haggle with glasses that are a pain to get to sit right inside the helmet. But the BEST is still the pinlock system. I ride in all weather and all temperatures, and having a fog free helmet is indispensable.

My first impression was disappointment and I opened the Amazon box to find a beat up torn manufacture box. However, when I opened it there were no scratches or any apparent damage except the inner shade lense fell right out. At that point I was thinking I’d have to return it, but I managed to get the left side holder down and it clicked right into place and functioned properly. The fog lense went right in without an issue, and easy to see out of. Most comfortable nicest helmets I’ve ever owned, and my glasses fit right in without a hitch which is a huge bonus!! Not to impressed with the plastic lips that hold the check pads and what not in because when I went to put them all back in, they didn’t fit quite as snug as before I pulled them out but maybe I didn’t get it in the same spot they were? The fabric stitching that holds the plastic in as well, isn’t as nice as I thought, I was worried I may pull them out trying to get the pads out, kinda looked like if you do it to often they certainly will rip out, so I’m not gonna test that. Overall, I think the value is there for the price point, it’s the best fitting and most comfortable helmets I’ve ever had, and I can’t wait to use it.

This is a really nice helmet. It has pretty decent ventilation and the wind noise is relatively low... when compared to helmets that cost about the same. The sizing seems to run a little small. I ordered a large at first , which is what I typically wear, and it was just a little too small so I got an XL. It fits around the top of my head better, but is still a little tight in the cheeks - I'm sure it will fit just fine after a few more rides. . Other than that, I love this helmet!
