Before traveling to Iceland I needed to get a camera bag that could withstand the extreme conditions that is indicative of the weather there. I had narrowed it down to this bag and the Lowepro Slingshot 202. I went with this bag and was extremely happy with my decision, I took this thing in glaciers, ice caves, volcano caves, boats, hiking, and just general city commuting in all sort of weather and it was comfortable, convenient, and protected all my camera gear. I am more of a camera hobbyist, right now I shoot with a Canon Rebel series camera and that is probably the target demographic for this bag. If you are intent on carrying 4 or more lenses and rapidly switching them out, I would look elsewhere. In the main compartment I could comfortably fit three of my lenses: a telephoto lens, fixed wide angle lense, and a kit wide angle zoom lens, as well as the power adapter all in the main compartment. Instead of storing the power adapter in that compartment you could probably swap it out for your external camera flash. There is also a small pouch area to store extra sd cards. The second largest compartment is a good size. I used this bag as my carry on luggage with a tripod attached, and in addition to the lens cleaning kit I store in this compartment I was also able to comfortable keep my sunglasses, keys, headphones, extra batteries, and portable phone charging station. The smallest compartment is right in the center of the bag. This zippered pocket is super deep so I was able to keep a micro fiber towel and various important documents in there. It also has a convenient clip to store your keys on as well as as some small sewn in pockets to store things like pens, or small flashlights. I love how quickly and secure I can attach a tripod to the bag and even with that added weight the bag was still comfortable and didn't have any pressure points. The cross body strap system takes some getting use to, but it does come in handy as a stabilization tool when taking pics. You can just slide this bag across your body and the access pocket for the camera is right in front of you. After you get your camera you can put your elbows on the bag for stability. I was able to take clean crisp pictures with long shutter times using this technique. I have shoulder problems so lifting the bag above my head to position the diagonal strap properly was a bit of a problem, what I really like about this bag is I was able to unhook the main strap put the back pack on my back and snap it back into place. I also love how sleek it looks, other camera bags if they aren't full of stuff tend to sag in some areas and pinch, this one always looks sleek which is a blessing when trying to make your way through congested areas. Also love that it has a waterproof protection cover that hides away in a pocket at the base of the bag. It is permanently attached to the bag as well, which is awesome as I've lost a countless number of those covers.

Perfect travel bag, seriously the designers did everything right. The camera compartment is perfect for my Sony A7 IV with a compact lens, plus batteries and GoPro. The tablet holder fits my iPad Pro 11 with keyboard case. The quick access pouch fits my phone and travel documents. The top pocket fits some cords, wallet, sunglasses, eye mask and more. The bag is lightweight and well padded. The pull out rain cover is genius. All this for under $100 is amazing! The only thing I wish it had was a luggage strap, but not a huge deal.

This is the nicest photo bag I have ever owned, but it is not the nicest photo bag out there. Prime Day helped me get this one because I'm a cheap bass who thinks more than $100 for a bag is ridiculous. The camera department in this bag is wonderful. I use a DSLR camera: Pentax K-3 iii, and three main lenses, a Pentax SMC 10-17mm fish-eye (my normal everyday lens on my camera most of the time), Rokinon 8mm fish-eye, and a Pentax D FA 28-105mm walk around street lens. I also have a battery grip that is normally on my camera, but this bag is too small / stiff to keep it on, an LED light, three camera batteries in a 3D printed holder, and an adjustable ND filter. This is all packed into the camera section and fits very snug, but very accessible. I wanted to have a little more room to keep my battery grip on my camera, but it isn't a game changer that it doesn't work (possible game changer / return below). The top section is wide open. I suggest using smaller travel bags in there because it is, wide open. I have one travel bag that holds the camera remotes, lens clothes, tool kit (folds up like a Swiss Army knife), pencil, sticky notes, and camera body cap. Then a pull closed bag that's got the battery charger mount, chord, wall charger, and a grey white balance card. Randomly tossed in there are my head lamps (I mainly hike at night here in Utah because HOT days), and a small LED flashlight (in the zipper pocket of the bag). My little hiking tripod fits really nice down the back of this back (THE reason I got the bag - my other cross body back does NOT work well with a tripod and I hike at night with shutter speeds in the seconds, not fractions of seconds, so I have to have a tripod). That is how I have the bag packed at the moment. I will probably move a few things around after the first hike. I do haul this bag around with me on the daily, and this is where I have a gripe. The strap is "fine" when it is on, across your body. I am a 6' tall man, in the 250# range. So I am not a small person, but I am also not huge. The strap on this thing is nice and wide, feels like it will break in well, BUT it is short, and not very happy accepting a strap mount quick release camera clip (it fits, but it crunches the strap). My camera clip is only about 2 inches from the end of the padded portion of the strap, and still sits up near my collar bone when I have the bag across my body. The small strap that you can also wear that goes under your arm is at the lowest part of its travel just under my camera clip. Hopefully this "end of adjustments" wear of the straps will be comfortable, but if you are a larger, taller person, just be prepared to run the adjustments out to their limits. I had my girlfriend look for me to see if maybe I was wearing the bag very low on my back, or had something setup weird, and she said it was nice and high on my back, and it didn't look like anything was still wrapped up weird. We'll see, but it is not a system designed with people with large frames. Finally by biggest complaint, and what might lead me to send this back is how it feels to throw it over the left shoulder for walking to your car or just casually hanging out and not wanting to throw the entire bag over your head to wear it across your body. It does NOT work well at all as a shoulder bag, at all, even a little, no sir. The strap is entirely designed (and well) to be used as a cross body bag. It is off center to help it hold well across your body and over your head. This means that if you want to use it on your shoulder, you're going to have to use one hand on the strap to keep it on your shoulder, or it will slide right off. I do not like wearing a full backpack when I hike (short 4 mile hikes at most) so I wear a sling bag. I only really throw it over my head and wear it across my body when I am hiking, not in my daily life. I load the bag pretty heavy, I am "squishy" so I look like a snowman when it is wrapped around me as a cross body bag. I'll give it this week to see how frustrated I get with the shoulder slippage and I hope I will figure out a technique to keep it there. If it can't hang, I'll request a return.

I was looking for a new camera bag that would fit my basic, but expanding, DSLR set up. I have an old medium size Tenba messenger bag that is great and still holding up, but it's getting too tight to fit even the small stuff that I have in it. I have a Nikon D3200, 2 lenses with plans to buy a third soon, external flash, travel tripod, larger tripod, and other small accessories. I tried several other larger messenger style bags, but they just felt too bulky. And while I like camera backpacks for comfort, I don't like how you can't grab your camera for quick shots. I primarily wanted something for when I travel and daytrips in town, so a sling bag seemed to fit what I was looking for in comfort and quick access. I bought this and also the Case Logic DCB-308. After receiving both, I quickly decided to return the Case Logic sling bag because the difference in quality felt quite substantial. Considering I only paid about $15 more for the Lowepro Slingshot, it was a pretty easy decision. The only thing I liked more about the Case Logic sling bag was that it could hold more, and it was more customizable. The only drawback to the Slingshot is that you can't really configure it how you want. The velcro is placed in strips, instead of covering the whole back of the bag, so you can pretty much only configure it one way. Also, the space is quite tight. I can probably fit 3 lenses in the main compartment with an external flash, but it will be tight. On the other hand, this makes the bag very slim, and you can move around a crowd alot easier. The Case Logic bag felt bulky. I think this bag is perfect for day trips, travelling, touristing, and hiking. The rain cover is a huge plus, as is the water bottle holder. The tripod holder could also fit a larger 60 inch tripod I have, if I ever want to take it anywhere. The velcro tabs adjust by quite a bit. It would not fit in the Case logic bag. In terms of quality, the Slingshot blows the Case Logic away. Just feeling it, you can tell it's just a much nicer product. This feels like it should last at least 10 years if not longer, and is as good if not better than my old Tenba bag that has lasted about 7. The Case Logic feels like it would probably start breaking down in a couple of years, but it isn't a horrible bag. The Slingshot is definitely worth the extra money, even though you do give up some space.

Ok, this is a tough one. I've pretty much used Lowepro camera bags exclusively since getting my first 200AW sling camera bag many years ago. I have to say that I really wish Lowepro would have refined THAT design instead of landing on the design of this Slingshot Edge 250 AW. The 200 AW easily fit my camera with an attached zoom lens attached in the main compartment, and left room for four additional lenses - or 3 lenses and a flash, or what have you. Given the compartments were adjustable, it was relatively easy to tailor the compartments to fit my needs easily. Then in comes the Edge 250 AW. Very typical Lowepro quality. Top score in that department. And there's room for a tablet and other non-camera related items. Cheers!!! But in the main camera and lens compartment, there's a VERY serious issue - two actually. Ok - you can fit your full frame DSLR or full-frame mirrorless camera with a zoom lens in the main compartment. For me, it's a Z6II and a 24-120 lens. Good so far. That's when things go seriously south. While there ARE fully four (4) other compartments, only two (2) of them are able to accommodate lenses. And given the slim profile of this bag, you're limited to "shorter" lenses. Even the newer Nikon Z 50mm 1.8 lens is too long for the lens compartment. Ok, it CAN fit, but it bulges that section of the camera bag. The lenses that I have that WILL fit are the Nikon Z 28mm f/2.8 and the Yongnuo 35mm f/2.0 lens. You can forget trying to fit a zoom like Nikon's 24-120 in either of the two lens compartments. That leaves the two OTHER compartments in the main section of the bag. It blows my mind that Lowepro designed those two other compartments situated at the bottom of the bag, to be as slim as they are. There's no way you can fit a lens in them. A battery charger, yes. An external microphone, or some other gizmo. Sure. But no lens, no flash will fit in those compartments. As a workaround, I've resorted to using the large zippered compartment at the top, rear of the bag for larger zoom lenses (specifically my Nikon Z 70-180) but I'd really rather use that space for what it's intended for - other "stuff." In short, this bag doesn't work for me. It CAN be a great bag for some, but if you want to just take a camera body and a few lenses (including zooms...) on vacation, it's limiting. Again, I wish Lowepro would just refine the 200 AW Sling bag, as that bag had a wider profile and the lens pockets could fit more substantial lenses, and even a flash with an attached foot. And while I really do like the idea of a sling backpack bag, I HAVE found a Lowepro workaround for my particular needs. It's the Lowepro Nova 180 AW II. In the picture attached, believe it or not, I fit the following: My Nikon Z6 II with the Nikon Z 24-120 Z lens attached in the center compartment, with the lens down. In the other compartments, I've fit my Meike 50mm lens, my Nikon 70-180 lens, my Nikon Z 28mm stacked with my Yongnuo 35mm f/2.0 lens, AND my Godox TT685 II flash. And that's just in the main compartment! There's room for batteries etc. in the front (?) zipped pouch, as well as another slim zipped compartment for documents etc. (passport? boarding passes??). Lowepro NEEDS to have a sling bag that fits as much actual camera gear as the Lowepro Nova 180 AW II. I'd buy that bag in an instant. Yes, the Nova bag doesn't have much (if any) room for anything else, let alone a tablet, but if photography is your "focus," then you want the Lowepro Nova 180 AW II, and not the Slingshot Edge 250 AW. This has been a public service announcement. : )

This is a great camera bag for all my photo and video gear . I snugly fits my 70-300mm zoom lens, a wide angle 10-18 mm lens, and normal 18-55mm lenses , I also have a 24 mm prime lens that is a slim lens that fits in there as well. The top compartment has space for my video mic, 2 large filters and other assorted gear such as a small flash light , lens cleaning cloth and my reflector kit for my flash as well as my flash. The small section is great for cell phone , keys, and other small items . The neck strap fits securely and snug I could carry this on day hikes or day trips with ease. I love the fact that the camera opening is on the side and that makes me feel secure when walking through crowds as my gear will not get tampered with in any way . Im happy to have finally found a camera bag that not only will allow me to carry all my essential lenses as well as other gear all in a compact fashion thats easy to carry and holds all of my photo as well as video gear . My only gripes is I wish I had a bit more room to spare for future endeavors with lens case area because I have to decide weather to carry my 18-55mm lens or a 50 mm prime but I cant carry both. Then again I can always cary addition lenses in the upper large carrying area loosely with my additional gear . The neck strap rubs on my neck a bit not a problem for short trips but might become a nuisance for all day events. Over all this is the best camera bag I have ever owned it completely fits all my necessary gear in one place no need to further carry two camera bags to a sight where I will be doing video work or photo shoots . Another great feature is I finally have a place to put my mono pod which can be strapped to the pack with provided clips .

This is a real nice camera bag, sturdy and well layed out. Not overly spacious, but certainly large enough to accommodate my needs. The small front pocket alone easily fits a note pad, pen, mechanical pencil, Victorinox swiss army knife and a calculator. The main front compartment is quite spacious. In there I carry a Manfroto pixie mini tripod, lens brush, large Giottos rocket blower, a 14" silver/white reflector, 14" diffusing panel, lightdow 12" gray panel (for custom white balance) and two Manfrotto Lumimuse LED lights. In a pinch, when I'm traveling, theirs room enough left over to squeez in my Camvate super clamp fitted with a Sioti mini ball head. The main compartment located on the back of the bag is cleverly situated with plenty of room for my Canon T7i body, hand held meter, a variety of lenses, lens caps, hoods and even a NiteCore head lamp in case I find myself navigating a strange area after sunset. Of course (depending on the circumstances) I don't always carry this much equipment but it's nice to know you have the options as needed. At those times when I find I do desire additional space, I like to mount my Ape Case (lens case) on the side of this bag. I find it convenient to be able to access my favorite prime lenses without touching a zipper on the main compartments. Since I mount this case to the bag with a carabiner, it's simple to remove when no longer needed. I think you'll like this bag, it's definitely a keeper.

I own three other Lowepro cases for various travel situations, but I was attracted to the Slingshot Edge 250 for an upcoming trip to China where there are severe intra-country weight restrictions for carryon gear (11 lbs). I needed a case that would hold my camera, two lenses, my tablet, and some emergency toiletries and underware/socks. This case works but just barely. What is great about this case? Quality materials and workmanship. Terrific protective padding for expensive camera gear. Only six inches thick, so case is very slim to wear. The slingshot style (as opposed to a backpack with dual straps), is convenient and gets around some museum and public venue restrictions on backpacks. Fits under most airline seats. What am I able to stuff into the case? A Canon 80D with an attached 18-135mm lens with a lens hood in a reverse position, a 28mm prime lens with hood, Canon charger and battery, 2 spare SD cards, small wired microphone, a Samsung 9.7 inch tablet, a ziplock bag with minimal toiletries, 2 pair of underware and light weight socks, and car keys. Externally, case allows for a compact tripod and a bottle of water. That's it. Case is maxed out. There is no room for a third lens or external flash. Wireless microphone system? Forget it. Be aware that the 9.7 tablet just barely fits. I doubt a larger tablet would fit. If these space limits meet your needs, as they do mine, I can enthusiastically recommend this case. If you have a full frame camera you might find this case is too small due to the shallow depth. I've attached a picture of the camera compartment so you can see what it looks like with gear in it.
