  • EXCELLENT - best took of the kind
Have bought several options from local store and online. Have owned three pair of these (lost one pair) and have one backup). These are flawless and maybe a little more money (not bad) but excellent. I’m a contractor and install a lot of kitchen / bathroom cabinets w all trim. Nothing compares!

  • Meh...they work
I used my shears for a single (admittedly large) quarter round job. Towards the end of the job, I switched to just using my miter saw. The blade had already gotten noticeably dull. Also, the only good cuts you can get with this are for 45 and 90 degree angles. all other angles will be off slightly as there is no way to adjust the guide. You also have to be careful when using these that you don't cut too long, because if you need to cut off a small amount you will find it impossible to do with these shears. You will need at least 1/2 inch on either side of the cut or they will keep slipping. All in all I think these shears are greatly overpriced for the service they provide. ... show more

  • Make sure to change the picture to the correct item. It is not the 3104/HU that is pictured.
Make sure you write the produce description. This item is NOT what is pictured, it has no lever to help with the cutting. It is a very well made item but it is the original 3104 with no power assist lever. I will keep it only because it is better when what is available locally. I hope to find the 3104/HU somewhere later. ... show more

  • ONCE YOU HAVE IT YOU WILL NOT LET IT GO
I HEARD ABOUT THIS TOOL ABOUT 8 YEARS AGO BUT NEVER CAME ACROSS IT, THEN RECENTLY SOMEONE CAME TO ME WHEN I WAS CUTTING SHOE MOLDING WITH A DEWALT MITER SAW AND TOLD ME ABOUT IT AND THEN SHOWED ME HIS HAND SHEARS AND I COULDN'T BELIEVE HOW EASY THIS TOOL WORKS!!! SO THEN I LOOKED FOR IT AND FOUND IT ON AMAZON, WHEN I GOT IT I TRIED IT WITH A PIECE OF SOLID CHERRY SHOE MOLDING BUT IT DOESN'T WORK TO GOOD WITH SOLID WOOD BUT CUTTING REGULAR PINE SHOE OR OTHER SMALL MOLDINGS IT WORKS WONDERS, I ALWAYS KEEP IT IN MY TOOL BAG WITH ME AND USE IT ALMOST EVERY DAY, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!! ... show more

  • Huge time saver
Began to dull quickly when cutting hardwoods but did an amazing job with soft shoe and other small trim. Must have in my opinion and big time saver with a little practice. Despite poor reviews this is the best brand I have found.

  • Size limits
If the trim you're trying to cut fits within the size limits of 1/2" x 1-1/3" (15mm x 35mm) this probably would work great. The trim I just put down wasn't smaller than this. The product description did not state this, so when I received the package I was very disappointed that I couldn't use it. I'm giving it a 3 star rating because I couldn't use it, so I don't know if it was terrible (1 star) or great (5 star) so I'm splitting the difference. I'm sending the cutter back for a refund and posting pictures of the product packaging so hopefully others can avoid the mistake I made. ... show more

  • Very Useful and Well Made
Excellent quality shears. I haven't tried it on hardwoods or anything larger than 1". I understand Lowe makes more industrial ones for thicker woods and specific blades for hardwoods. It does take a short time to get used to how they work most efficiently, however they can save hours of labor on a large job. I was able to use them to make some specialty cuts as well for odd angles and shapes in small areas as well. ... show more

  • Excellent for the Do-It-Yourselfer
My husband loved this item! It took him about 30 minutes to get the full hang of it but once he figured out how to place the shoe molding on the shears to get the right angles for the floor he was off! He finished 190 linear feet in under 2 hours with minimal waste! Great tool and would recommend to anyone who does not have the time or money to spend on renting or buying a miter saw. ... show more
