Let's get the product-specific review out of the way. This edition of Love Letters is beautifully designed and highly portable. I have a habit of carrying it in my man-pockets and teaching it to whoever will listen. The cards are beautiful. Each one has a decently nuanced design that has sparked more than a couple of interesting conversations. The velvet-type bag is very nice, even after being discolored by my pocket lint. Let's talk about the game. I LOVE THIS GAME. My current standard is 60s to teach someone the basics of the game and one quick round for them to grasp. Every soul I've taught the game to has thoroughly enjoyed the game and my copy has quickly become multiple group traditions. The gameplay is simple and nuanced. Like I said, 60s to explain the basics. A single round of the game typically lasts a little under 5 minutes with most of the groups I've played with—five minutes *with* friend group banter included. One of the best board game ever. So easy to learn as it has instruction card for each player and also on the card you have. Also, the round is pretty quick (may be 10-15 minutes when playing with four people). I also like the pouch so that you can bring the cards and gems safely.
