I was pleased when my contractor recommended Louisville Ladders because I had heard others say good things about them. He has some experience with this brand as well as others and says this is his brand of choice. It’s lightweight but strong. Now that it’s installed, I do have one gripe — the rungs at the top are flush to the attic door, but very narrow, making it difficult to safely place a foot. I’ll keep this ladder in place for now. These aluminum attic stairs are so much lighter and more durable than my old wooden ones that were falling apart. Wasn't too bad of an install as we already had the rough opening from the existing stairs. Best part is the adjustable size, which I think is why my wooden stairs did not last - they were not the right length. Stairs are very easy to pull down and pop back up.
