The original charger did not work. The original was 3a charger. This on is 2amp and I am ok with a bit slower charge so battery last longer. It worked and fully charge my dad's electric mobility chair. So far I am happy with it. Red light while charging and green when full charged. It get a bit warm when your battery are very discharged. I make sure all side of charger have air by placing a plastic bottle cap under it so the charger has the best air surface. Of course being it used in puerto rico adds to the warming.     • The only issues I’ve had are due to harsh treatment
First one I got lasted years when it was well taken care of. It even survived being used in a metal shed through several seasons. So as long as you don’t expect it to get run over a lot, it’ll work great. I’ve gotten a total of three of them because I know the issues I’ve had are not the fault of the manufacturer. I just need to make sure I always have one that works for when the person using it breaks them. But more recently it has been getting beaten and abused. It gets run over and sometimes dragged by a motorized wheelchair. In these conditions the wires started breaking inside the wire’s insulation. The original one the weak point was where the output wire comes out of the case. The more recent one had this issue as well as a broken wire inside the connector after some abuse. So if you have one that breaks with the light still coming on, those are the points of failure we have found so far. Once again to be clear, the issues I’ve had are from the abuse the charger has gotten. ... show more
