  • A Small Factor with Lighting and Switchable Keys Offers a Lot A Small Factor with Lighting and Switchable Keys Offers a Lot
Color: Black Size: 98 percent Style: Linear Switches
This space saving design is kind of interest. I typically use keyboard that large because I want that numpad, which the G512 X98 has, but it removed some of the more specialized keys like Home and End, PG Up and PG down. This gives it a smaller footprint without removing the glorious numpad. I am still learning whether I find this good enough to replace the larger keyboard or if I am going to miss those buttons too often. Still on the subject of hardware, I love the the key removers and switch removes function as the keyboard feet. Too often we get these little parts that need to remain available but without any place to put them except some drawn or baggie with the hopes that when we need them we one, remember where they are and two, remember what they are. This solves that problem complete. They're the feet of the keyboard and they are labeled. The included USB A / USB C cord is long but not braided. I like the feel of braided cords better and they don't kink, but if length is what you are looking for, it's there. The keys are solid feeling and are actually quieter than my cherry mx keyboard. This would please anyone around me. The volume and lighting knob is easy, love the feel of them and pushing them mutes it. As for lighting, I am still convinced somewhere out there is some sort of programming boot camp that everyone gets together to figure out how to make the light schemes a lot more difficult than they should be. The software is just not enjoyable to use. I spent an hourish just messing around with it and getting my purples and blues and just generally getting a theme I prefer. I hate that the keyboard fades and then the lightning turns off within minutes of no use. I've searched online looking for solutions, but it doesn't work. This is a software issue of some kind, and I am sure a solution is out there somewhere. Now the hot swappable keys for analog and mechanical is what makes this keyboard more adjustable than most. You can change the coloring. You can change the keys themselves and get the sensitivity you want. It says it is hot swappable but the software recommends you disconnect the keyboard to make the change which is... not hot-swappable. Recommendations is not a n explicit no though. So hot-swappable does work even if the software suggests you need to do otherwise. If a small form factor is what you are looking for, with a num pad, and not losing the handy features of lighting and volume control, this could very well be what you are looking for. The key presses are familiar, the ability to change the lighting and the keys themselves quickly are all pluses. ... show more

  • Great Gamer style keyboard Great Gamer style keyboard
Color: Black Size: 98 percent Style: Linear Switches
I will start this review stating thatI am NOT a gamer so some of the positive features of this keyboard will sadly not be exploited to the fullest. This keyboard is well built and the fell of the keys will take some getting used to if you are coming from a typical mechanical old school keyboard. Being primarily a gaming board, there are a few keys missing that I found to be a bit concerning for my daily use. A few minor points that I came across. The spare key switches and caps are kept in a slot at the back of the keyboard. There is a slot that houses the silicone tension rings. From the factory there is a piece of tape. The instructions tell you to remove the tape to access these parts. The issue is when you take off the tape, the silicone rings can and do slide out of the slot. So I left the tape in place. The addressable knobs and back lighting is very nice. You will need to decide if you let the Logitech software suite or Windows will control the lighting. I opted to use the Logitech suite. Overall this keyboard is really good at what it does. If you are a gamer, this will make you happy, if you are more of a normal user, the missing keys might be a distraction. Price point is in line with higher level accessories. Here is how I rate items: 5 Stars = Exceeds all expectations, A definite buy! (Very Rare) 4 Stars = Very good find, you should definitely give it a shot. 3 Stars = It works and functions as advertised. 2 Stars = A little scary, possibly OK, it may work out. 1 Star = Avoid this product, not worth the effort. ... show more

  • Very light keyboard, relatively quiet compared to most mechanical ones. No wrist rest pad included
Color: Black Size: 98 percent Style: Linear Switches
Impressive keyboard: very light for its size and feels like a membrane keyboard but still performs like a mechanical one without the noise (even red switches make some noise, in the context of the TMR switches). The keyboard comes with 9 TMR (analog) switches that can be installed 'live' as in, you do not need to unplug or disassemble the keyboard in order to replace the switches. It also comes with 5 extra keycaps that make the keyboard keys look consistent as the ESC and arrow keys have a different design out of the box. It also has two knobs used to control keyboard brightness and volume. The media keys are controlled by a shift-like key (FN) that provides access to the extended functions of the keyboard, the utility group keys live as a secondary function on the numerical keypad. Removing both the keycap and the key switches themselves is relatively easy but you need to have the included removal tools nearby. As a bit of a note here, the extra key switches are included in a compartment on the back of the keyboard but the extra keycaps and the removal tools are in the main box. My only issue with this keyboard is the lack of a wrist rest... for long gaming or typing sessions, your wrist might feel uncomfortable after a while, I get that the manufacturer perhaps did not want to cover the front side which is illuminated as well but the keyboard is not the main focus of attention when doing either one of these activities, the attention is on the screen so keeping the light unobstructed by sacrificing a good wrist rest to pair along the keyboard feels like a shortsighted decision. ... show more

  • Above expectations. Above expectations.
Color: Black Size: 98 percent Style: Linear Switches
I’ve used almost every mechanical keyboard imaginable, believe me it gets old and you will miss the simple quiet membrane keyboard. I started with “Razer” and moved up to “Das keyboard” and many other more affordable options later on. The clicky keys got old and some brands started releasing linear keys that are quiet to press. These sounded good but lacked the resistive feedback in some cases. I recently got an MSI keyboard that was almost perfect. This Logitech keyboard is perfect in almost every way, the feedback of the keys, the customization, analog switches…I never cared for backlighting except for the enhanced ability to see the keys but this keyboard has some amazing options and customizable lighting zones you can set up based on the game you want to play. Pros: - awesome minimalist design that doesn’t eliminate all necessary keys -endless customization -perfect key lighting options -linear switches that are nice and quiet. Fun to press. -lighting turns off after a while of no activity -great weight stays in place -room saving on desk even with the 98% -adjustable switch distance (using Logitech G hub software) - Cons: -not every key slot is analog swappable. -If you remove the sticker on the back to access the analog switches the “SAPP” rings will freely fall out so be aware of this. ... show more

  • Compact analog keyboard with strong features
Color: White Size: 98 percent Style: Linear Switches
This Logitech G512 X 98 keyboard feels well built and has a clean white design that looks sharp on a desk. The hot swappable TMR analog and mechanical switch setup is the main strength, giving it more adjustment than a basic gaming keyboard. Custom actuation from 0.1 to 4.0 mm, rapid trigger, an 8K polling rate, and LIGHTSYNC RGB all make it feel responsive and flexible during initial use. The linear switches feel smooth, and the compact 98 layout keeps most keys without taking up too much space. The main drawback is that the feature set comes with a higher cost. Pros ~ Smooth linear switch feel ~ Hot swappable switch design ~ Fast 8K polling rate ~ Clean compact 98 layout Cons ~ Higher cost ~ Wired only setup ... show more

  • Smooth keys, very high quality Smooth keys, very high quality
Color: White Size: 98 percent Style: Linear Switches
I’ve been really impressed with this keyboard so far. Right out of the box, it looks super clean and modern, especially with the white and teal color combination. The RGB lighting is bright without being overwhelming, and the underglow around the base gives it a really premium gaming/setup aesthetic. The keys feel smooth and responsive while typing, and the switches have a satisfying feel without being excessively loud. I also really like the included volume/control knobs at the top corner — they make it feel much more high-end and are actually very convenient to use. ... show more
