While using this today on my extension ladder on a 2 story roof I climbed 1/2 way up and hit a patch of roof that was covered with loose gradually. I slid down the roof til my feet hit the ladder and stopped my very certain fall. The ladder Did Not Budge. Got this for my son, he works in construction. No one he works with had ever seen this product. Suffice its well made, easy to use, and it works exactly as advertised. Twice this saved my son from falling on a job site, ladders no longer slide along uneven roofs or tip when bumped or bounced. Quite an amazing product. Great quality well made product ,be better if was made in the USA but still really nice . I have a little giant ladder so it didn’t tighten down enough i added a piece of plywood between the ladder and gutter and that did the trick very tight, very secure as a side benefit my plywood trick helped to protect the gutters from ladder scratches and distributed the weight of the ladder ,so back to Amazon to order (ladders little helper) I will add my plywood to that then my life will be complete probably don’t need 2 of them however I thought if one is good 2 would really be good so Back to Amazon to order another one . Everyone who works with extension ladders needs this tool. It’s easy to use and makes all the difference in the ladder’s stability. My previous job provided their workers with “top safety equipment”. And by that they meant a bungee cord to tire to the gutter for your 20+ foot extension ladder. This clamp is SO much more stable than a cord. It clamps to the side of the ladder and not leaving a cord for you to trip on over a rung. I would suggest if you are a coward like me to get two of these claps, one for each side of the ladder. ... show more

Works as expected, very simple and easy to use. Holds the ladder as firm as tie down straps with out pulling on gutter supports. Completely happy with the purchase, wish they had a package deal for 2. One downside is can't use a gutter guard while using the lock jaw, and without a second one the ladder has enough bounce that cardboard eventually finds it's way down and out. Also the carabineer that comes with it is cheap and broke off after the first couple uses. Doesn't bother me tho, I just lock it onto my harness strap or onto a pocket. ... show more

I had to assist a family member with installing spout covers and this device made the work safer and easier because I didn't have to worry about the ladder moving or tipping away from the roof. Super easy to use and holds the lighter tightly (once you adjust it properly).
