it's a must have if you have a wood floor in your house. you can fix small chips and dents with this thing and if you know how to color match using he provided color blocks you could almost make it feel like there was no damage at all.

I bought this kit to repair some minor blemishes in my finished wood floor that came from falling objects, bed frames, etc. It came with every color I could need to match the variations in the stain, and was really easy to use. It seems a little expensive, but the amount of wax in the kit will last a long time and get you through a lot of repairs. Floor dings are now all but disappeared, and Iām still totally prepared for the next drop that happens. Loba did a great job with this kit!

My hardwood floors have numerous imperfections that need to be filled. Many of theses have grain running through them. I thought about using some of the repair pencils that I have used in the past, but the colors never matched and would have stuck out more than the imperfections. This enables me to mix the melted waxes in the hole and match it exceptionally well. Making a change in the color so that it appears that there is grain takes some skill as well as a lot of trial and error. One thing that you should be aware of is that the knife does not work if you put the batteries in backward: Which they are in correctly, an LED will light up to indicate the tip is heating (when the heating button is pressed as well). The wax does get fairly hard and will resist minor compressions that are not done with a sharper point (which would likely damage the wood as well). Once the finish is put on and some protective wax, the surface is much more appealing and resilient. Compared to looking at an imperfect floor, this is much better, and with skill in matching grain this item can be really awesome! The key in much of the battle to putting grain seems to be in the temperature control of what exists as the substrate and not melting too far into it. This will be a skill that will only get better with time.

Does a really good job as long as you mix the color tones it'll make the damaged part look brand new again. The knife heats instantly and is able to be used as soon as you press the button. Does take batteries (3 triple A) but they are included. You can also make wood grain texture by the different scraper tools included

The Loba Repair Set is an interesting way of repairing damaged finished wood, such as furniture or wood flooring. Living in a household full of antiques that have been moved dozens of times over the years, nearly everything suffers from dings, scratches, and gouges that would benefit cosmetically by a repair. Never having attempted anything like this before, I thought I'd give it a try and see what kind of results I could achieve. The Loba Repair Set arrived shrink-wrapped in a translucent white plastic case that is approximately 6" x 8". Within the case is a removable plastic tray housing 15 numbered hard wax sticks, each about 1-1/2" L x 1/2" W. They range in color from black to grays, reds, browns, yellows and white. There is a clear plastic battery operated hot knife to melt the wax and fill in the damaged area. Three AA batteries are even included. Also in the kit are a plastic scraper to remove excess wax, a small buffing pad, and a Sealing Pen that seals the repair so it won't attract dirt and grime. The photographic instructions detail 12 steps to accomplish a repair, including mixing various waxes to achieve graining and matching colors. It is not clear why the wax sticks are numbered nor how to order replacement items. The manufacturer offers a one year warranty. The Loba Repair Kit seems pricey for what you get and I am a bit reluctant to start using it until I do some addiitonal research and watch some videos. I award the Loba Repair Kit 4 stars.

The LOBA repair kit works amazingly well. š I have a very large solid wood dining room table that had 2 large gouges on it. I ordered this kit specifically for this damage and it did not disappoint. The pictures show a before then an after shot of the damage. As you can see the repair looks incredible compared to the before shot. This was a very simple process and both gouges only took me about an hour to complete. I used virtually every tool supplied as each step involves a different process. The wax heating tool is fantastic and very accurate applying the wax. You can run a very fine line with ease. The beauty of this repair kit is it's versatility on surfaces. Floors, cabinets, tables, virtually any wood surface. The color pallet provides the ability to tackle any project. I am thrilled with the LOBA repair kit. I will be using it for years to come! Simply amazing. š
