I needed something to cover the open holes for my bamboo privacy screen on my balcony; after I saw flying critters disappear into the bamboo. I used this tape to cover each opening in the 8' bamboo screen. It gives the screen a finished look. While I was installing a wasp pestered me for blocking its access. We have a Sewer ejector pump within a tank to pump sewage from our basement up to the main Sewer line existing our house. I had a plumber replace the pump a few years ago but we've experienced sewage smells every since. So I finally got around to taking the lid off and resealing the entire rim and the rings where the PVC pipes enter the lid. This product proved to be perfect as it does not have an adhesion characteristic (so we can easily remove the lid in the future) but was very easy to form around the rim and pipe ring exit areas including compressing well when screwed down. I wanted to affix some plastic sheeting to the inside of my car's door upholstery panel. I read that this was the right stuff for that job. And it worked very well for me. Provides adequate adhesion to both the door panel's fibber board interior and the 6 mil plastic I used. Easy to measure, cut, and apply. Easy to get it started and pressed down into place by pushing against the release paper. Then just remove the release paper, apply the plastic sheeting, and push some more. Not horribly gooey and fairly firm. However this was all done at about 50 degrees. Results at higher air temps may vary. The one negative is that I can confirm it ships "protected" by Styrofoam as others have described and this is less than ideal because some of the foam nuggets can break off and get stuck to the side of the caulk. Not really possible to remove it after that. In my case, it was confined to the last foot or so of the roll and even then would not have made much difference in my application. But beware of this. They could do this part better with ease. ... show more

It’s winter and cold so it arrived in pristine condition, well packaged and in good shape but could be a problem if during hot weather. I used it to put the back sliding glass in my truck after removal for repairs. The old sealant came off and left about a 1/4” gap. This was the right size but it was cold and rainy and hard to get to stick during installation. I heated up the area with paint remover gun to get it to stay and also to mold in and stick to both sides. Some reviews said they didn’t get the length described but mine was and have some left over. I’ll find out if it has really sealed water right in the long run as it has not rained yet. I think it probably will. It definetly stick tight after applying some heat. ... show more

I was very apprehensive about purchasing this right now as we have had 20 plus days of temps over 100 degrees. I've seen pictures of melted butyl tape in the packaging. That wasn't the case here, and I was pleasantly surprised. Since it has been so warm here, using the adhesive has also been easier. It's easy to stretch, and slow to spring back in this warmer weather. So far, I've redone two of my cars vapor barriers. This stuff is very sticky, and can be difficult to work with, but this isn't a mark against this seller or this specific sellers product, it's just an inherent quality of all butyl adhesive like this I believe. Removing the factory applied butyl was a sticky mess. Application of this butyl was easy, and mess-free. I would definitely buy from this seller again. ... show more
