    • Case is Garbage but parallels should do the job
So the plastic case that they come in, total cheap garbage. Mine came shrink wrapped and was sealed, yet the flimsiness of the case is so poor that the inside section had broken off and the latch just doesn't work! Now I didn't buy this for the case, fair. The parallels them selves look ok. Are these a high end set, no. They are ground but roughly, you can tell speed was key here. The holes they have in them look like they were deburred by the blind. Honestly looks like someone just threw them loosely under a drill press and let it bounce around on the drill. Very crude, but again, I didn't buy them for the holes either. These should work for their intended purpose, but you do get what you pay for. I am less than pleased on these personally but more for the other things than primary use. ... show more

PRO: Ground to w/in .001" on flatness, and parallelism as pairs. Shipped wrapped/coated in wax paper (no rust). Very good quality, for such a bargain! CON: ground to size w/in .002" of marked size (but all the pairs match well w/in .001" of each other). Overall: MUST-HAVE. I would recommend to anyone, but the most discriminating of Machinists. ... show more

The heights seemed to be within a few tenths of the label but I don't understand why they have varying thicknesses. I was expecting the 1/8" dimension to be controlled as well, but the set has more than ten thou of variation. Looking at the half inch parallels, one bar is about thirteen thousandths thicker than the other - above and below 1/8". None of the bars in the set seem to be a true 1/8" thick, so that dimension cannot be relied upon for anything. ... show more
