My 4 yr old son is in a little boys size 11. I ordered a size 11.5 (awesome that they have half sizes!) to ensure these make it through the winter. I'm so glad I did! A twelve would have been enormous and the 11's would not have fit for long. These are perfect and have enough room to layer socks if we need to. I'm guessing these run pretty true to size. I ordered the style with the bungie cord where laces would go and the single velcro strap around the ankle. This style is a great choice for every day use since these are quite high around the ankle. The style with 3 velcro straps look even higher around the ankle and I thought they might be too bulky for my little guy. An older kid would probably handle the 3 velcro strap style better than him. The style with the 3 velcro straps would have offered more support around the ankle since you can tighten them, but these are perfect for us. I really cannot say enough about these boots. I will definitely be ordering them again for next year. They are very sturdy, warm, have great features, seriously everything I could ask for in a good winter shoe/boot. We have regular, tall snow boots for our son to wear out playing in the snow but where we live we have pretty severe snow storms and get several feet of snow so these will be perfect for every day use. The price was amazing, shipping was fast, honestly one of my favorite Amazon purchases! My husband is going to wish they had these in his size!

My son has been wearing these for 3 months now and they are great. He loves the "ice mode" that you can flip on the bottom so you don't slip. He wore them in Bryce Canyon, Zion, and camping around San Diego. His feet have stayed dry, warm, and comfortable. Also, He accidentally stepped in a creek and one point so I put them in the dryer and they dried easily with no funky smell. Very sturdy boots!

I tend to purchase men’s or boy’s shoes because they last longer and tend to cost less. These boots are no exception to that personal rule. The fit is comfortable, and the insulation is warm. I don’t always read full descriptions and was surprised to fine a metal piece on the sole at the heal that can be repositioned for traction. My only criticism is that the sole isn’t all that flexible and I tend to clomp around instead of walking heel/toe. All in all a great purchase!
