Bought this for my 16 month old grandson. He uses it both indoors and outdoors. He loves to turn the key (which makes a noise) as well as flip the lever (which also makes a noise) before he gets moving. The popper is at a reasonable decibel level. Some toys are way too loud, but for a popper, this one is just about right. He's a little afraid of loud noises right now, and this was OK with him. The only thing he was a bit frightened of was the pull cord. If you pull it fully and fast, it's pretty loud and he did cry a bit. The next time I tried it I pulled it more slowly. He was still hesitant, but didn't cry. I'm sure he'll get used to it. But, you don't have to pull it at all, so if it's an issue, just don't use it. He's had fun with the removable gas tank. Very cute. All in all I'm happy with the quality and the price was right too. I'd certainly buy another. ... show more

Fantastic piece of entertainment for my almost 1.5 year old boy. We got it for him through Amazon for his 1st birthday. It was priced around $30 at the time, and i felt it was a good option between the other choices. He loves the pink bubble mower that my 3 year old had, so i thought he would be pretty happy with this. I was happy to see when we received it that it was good quality. It has a few things that can keep him busy. -The balls in the center pop when he pushes it -the revving part of the engine makes noise and can be pulled -the top handle bar has knobs to turn -it comes with a gas can for him to stop and "get gas." although the gas can went to other toys after he first got it, now at 6 months later, he is interested in keeping it with the mower where it belongs. We've left this outside for a good portion of its' play-life. Colors haven't faded nearly as much as i expected. If you have a boy that loves to push things, buy it. You won't regret it at all. ... show more

My toddler loves this! I love that the sounds aren't electronic so there are no batteries to replace. All the kids love the pull string and the little removable gas can. This is a great product for the same price or cheaper than others. Highly recommend. One note: the mower actually doesn't roll very well on grass!! My son likes to push it while my husband is mowing, but he ends up driving it mostly on the concrete. That's the only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. ... show more

My son is 3 1/2 and is tall for his age and has no problems using this mower. He loves to mimic his dad mowing the yard and was ecstatic to get this toy. It has a pull cord that makes a real sound and when you push the mower it makes a popping sound. I saw that some people wrote that it did not push well outside and I was surprised by this. I have a big bumpy and uneven back yard and my son runs with his mower and whips around the yard with ease. The toy itself seems quite solid and sturdy. When it comes to toy lawn mowers, Little Tikes wins the prize. Forget the chintzy bubble mowers (which usually work for one "season" and then break). This mower has plenty of features and gadgets that mimic a real lawn mower. From the pull-starter, to the removable gas can to "fill 'er up", everything is well-designed and thoughtfully considered for a child's enjoyment. My only "warning" is that this is a loud toy. When pushed, the balls pop wildly (no surprise there), but it's so loud that we don't allow our older child to play with it when our youngest is napping. Also the pull-starter can be very loud, depending on how quickly it is pulled. We gave this to our son for his third birthday, and it's been a HUGE hit! The popping sounds are great, and the knobs, gas can, and pull cord make the mower seem very real to the little ones. Honestly, our little boy was mesmerized, and the mower was great fun for kids ranging between the ages of 18 months and 7 years. It's very cute, and seems durable. Our lawn is a bit bumpy, and the grass really isn't very short, but none of the children had any trouble pushing the mower. I'd highly recommend this product. ... show more
