  • Good gag gift, maybe a little mature for the labeled age - kids 4 and up?
Color: Multicolor Style: Flamingo
We bought this as a family gag gift after the year of COVID, just a joke to make us all laugh at Christmas. Our 14-year-old son hates it and does not think it is funny at all. Maybe we could have anticipated that, but in a way it makes it even funnier. Initially, we were a little disappointed by the eating and pooping - ours doesn't eat very much or very fast, and it only poops a tiny amount at a time. We haven't been able to get it to perform like the pictures on the packaging which appear to show more poop, and poop sinking to the bottom of the toilet. Instead, the poop floats on the top of the water. It actually works better (and is less messy) without water in the toilet. That way you don't have to strain the food out of the water to feed the flamingo again. However, as it turns out we don't really care about the eating and pooping. The noises it makes are hilarious, and the "repeat what you say" feature is much better than you would expect. We didn't know about that feature so it was a nice surprise. My husband has installed it in his bathroom; he turns it on and talks to it whenever he visits the bathroom. It is a funny novelty item to him! It does remind us of a potty-training aid, though. You eat and then eventually you need to use the bathroom, and the "uh oh, gotta go" makes us think of a toddler who realizes they need to go and have to get there in time. It could help a toddler identify with the process, especially since the flamingo comes with a little toilet with a removable seat, sort of like a potty training toilet. But the noises are kind of inappropriate for a young child - grunting as the flamingo poops, and then hearing the poop fall into the toilet? They are funny to us, but we didn't really do potty humor with our son until he was a teenager. These are my thoughts - depending on your family you may use it differently. One reason we bought it is that we have a young friend who loves toilet-related things. We will show it to him when the novelty wears off, and we will probably give it to him if he likes it. ... show more

  • Very cute but broke really fast
Color: Multicolor Style: Flamingo
Daughter loved it for the month that it lasted. It was worth it for how happy it made her though.

  • Not a Good Idea for toy Hungry Kids
Color: Multicolor Style: Flamingo
My kids devour toys as I have never seen in my life. And I have two of these kids which are of the male species. And I naively thought I could pull out the toy and make a nice demonstration of the whole pooping process. I was ready for some understanding- but I was so blind. I did not even get a chance to do anything before they were essentially choking out the flamingo in a tug-of-war between said kids. I tried to re-guide them back into the importance of this flamingo... and in the process missed reading the directions- didn't add the "required" water, shoved all the "food" into his gullet, and failed desperately at finding any button to start the pooping process. All the while sand all over the floor- one kid ran off with the little toilet- the other started chewing on the plastic leg. OMG. What a fiasco. If you have a well-mannered- soft-spoken- little angle of a kid this toy would be great. But heed my warning if you have spawns of darkness- I would not recommend. Added Bonus: one said kid has the flamingo jingle "uh oh gotta go" imprinted in his brain and continually inputs it into our universe. Sooooo... ... show more

  • Another "niche" gift
Color: Multicolor Style: Flamingo
This is cute and exciting for maybe an hour. After that they novelty wore off and its off into the toy box. Hasnt been touched since. It is cute. Sits on the potty and sings a cute song. Comes with powder to feed the turtle so he can "poop" in the cute little toilet that it comes with. Would not buy again though. ... show more

  • Amazing!
Color: Multicolor Style: Flamingo
Ok, so this is the second one we've purchased. I bought it for my 4 year old niece for Christmas. Both she and her little 1 year old sister played with it so much that they broke it a week ago (drowned the poor thing). So, the precious little peanut FaceTimed me to ask if I could buy her another one. Of course I said yes because I'm a sucker. (I did ask her if she had enough money to pay for a third one because I was done after 2.) Since it stays at my parents' who watch them 3 times a week, my parents are the ones who give me updates. My dad said they already played with the new one that came for most of the day when they watched them on Thursday. Money well spent in my opinion...but my dad may or may not be sick of the copy cat part of this flamingo. That sounds like a him problem though. ... show more

  • Cute!
Color: Multicolor Style: Flamingo
I bought this for my daughter for her birthday and she loved it. It is adorable and well made. However, there isn't a lot you can do with it. When you feed it once and it "goes", there can be residual sand left over that comes out of its mouth and . . . other orifice. She slept with it, and of course there was sand in her bed the next morning. It is cute though and it does everything as promised. It mimics what you say. There is only one sound setting - loud! And the "gotta go" song is very catchy! This is a great payback gift to buy for the child of a friend who in their single years got your child kinetic sand or glitter! ... show more

This was my daughter's Christmas present and she was so happy! The sand staying dry is the coolest part!
