The tray, cards and letters were just fine. For the price I was not expecting a heavy weight plastic holder. The cards were coated and could easily be wiped clean. I liked that there were 2 of every letter and that each letter was on it's own tile eliminating the frustration of having to turn tile after tile over and over to find the correct letter. My main disappointment was that the font on the tiles did not match the font on the cards. I'm not being picky here - one of my grandsons confused the T, I and several other letters because of the font difference. You can see in the product photo that the cards have a more advanced font...one not easily understood by a beginner and the tiles have a simpler font. I should have noticed that when I purchased this so this is on me but I felt I should point it out to anyone considering purchasing this product. ... show more

I bought this for 3, soon to be 4 yr old daughter. It is a great tool to learn how to spell & to learn letter recognition. Bonus for young kids like mine is learning/recognizing what some of the pictures are. It's fun learning finding the letters, & picking out which picture she wants to learn how to spell!     • Good concept, not great construction
The idea is great, but the actual product is kind of shoddy. The cards look and feel cheap. So, so few of the cards are not words that early readers could put together. We use it, but it's definitely one of my less used early learning games.

The item description says 52 letters plastic bricks, but received only one set of alphabets. Would be great to have 2 sets. The learning cards are good and preschoolers would love to learn through play.
