Small but mighty. Perfect as a travel set. I kept right in same box and cut lid off. I marked each paint bottle lid with the color inside the tube so I can see at a quick glance. As I need more I will purchase the larger containers but this is a good start for my Acrylic Painting class.

    • Caution to beginners!! It could be the paint!

Beginners please read before you give up on your passion! I am a highly experienced painter working in everything from airbrush, acrylic, oil, car paint and more. I have used these paints for years but they do have some fickle characteristics that I would caution beginners about. For instance these aren't very opaque which can be extremely frustrating for a beginner and leave you layering and layering to try to get a solid none streaky look even in the opaque line of these paints. Also I don't know what it is about Liquitex but having used several of these bundle packs as well as the full size tubes the same colors continue to age poorly and rapidly -the Quinacridone Magenta turns into a stringy slime that does not spread evenly, the yellow begins to coagulate and has a lumpy cottage cheese texture mixed in a slime, and the brown does similar to the yellow but in a much dryer form. These colors continue to be problematic over and over to the point I am done buying them and have replaced them with a different brand. I do not use these paints for detail work as much as laying down big patches of color. Overall these are ok and the colors are beautiful but if you are a beginner moving from something like a craft paint, just be aware these paints are completely different and it is not your inability as a painter as much as a challenge with the material even for the experienced painter. This is true in many art mediums, often it is the quality of the material not just the quality/experience/ability of the artist. ... show more

I'm happy with these beginner paints. Haven't constructed any painting on the canvas yet, but I tried them and pigments are really pretty. I'm comparing these to Amsterdam and Golden paints.

I wanted some not garbage acrylic paints to practice and get some mileage in with. These are perfect. Especially if you paint a little conservatively. I needed this for a painting class I'm taking, and I bought this because it had all the colors I needed for the course. Honestly, it's really good for beginners if they want to get started on painting, they're so many colors to use and because they're small bottles you can decide to buy the bigger ones later on. I was able to paint on a 16x20 canvas and I still had a lot of paint left over, I will say though if you are going to be painting on bigger canvases I think you should invest in the bigger bottles as well (even though they're hella expensive) **the box was kind of destroyed, but thankfully none of the paint was used, it was just the packaging. ** ... show more
