After a failed batch of factory original brake assemblies (4 out of 6 in 12 months on a triple axle) with badly tempered steel, the same part broke in the same place on all 4, the last one on the Continental Divide, shorting out the entire braking system on a 15,000 lb 5th wheel, we decided to go with a different manufacturer. These are the same design, bolt on in the exact same way, better quality, and literally 1/4 of the price. As long as you know how to pack an axle and can replace your race bearings (and use a grease gun), these are simple - 5 locking bolts and two wires, and the kit comes with 5 new locking bolts and 2 press together wire connectors already greased! A socket set and a pair of pliers and you're in business! Love them. ... show more

Pretty straight forward installation. There were no instructions but if you need them you should probably not be doing the install. recommend repacking and inspecting wheel bearings and replacing inner seal.

Had two right sides arrive yesterday. One is defective. I assume this occurred from the factory. Possibly handling but I lean more from no quality control from Lippert or their assembler. The assembly is out of round with the backing plate and the shoes do not meet correctly. One shoe the long one which faces the rear is knocked out of kilter. If zooming in on the above pics you should be able to see this? Also not sure the magnet is in place correctly. If I were Amazon I would take a long hard look at Lippert and how they are assembling these. Not a good look! Also, a recommendation would be to ship these in a tighter box instead of the larger one they sent these to me in. Too much space for these to jostle around in. I am returning this for a replacement. I also have two left sides coming. Keeping fingers crossed on these! ... show more
