Thankfully the track is easy to put together, and after putting in the batteries it was running. The train is nice quality, heavy enough to stay stable, but light enough for kids to play. With 2 toddlers around, the track is staying together nicely. Can't say too much about battery life yet, but hopefully it lasts. My grandson is 2.5 and loves trucks, trains, cars, etc. He is a little young for it but he learned how to use the controller pretty quickly. Figured its a good starter trainset that will hopefully last a few years until we can start to upgrade (if he’s still interested!). This train is adorable. And remote is easy to use. Our boy is 2 1/2 and once we showed him he had no problem. He loves it. We added tracks to it but it comes with a good amount. No regrets biggest hit this Christmas! Toot toot!

Overall it’s great. It’s just so loud at all times and it isn’t a pleasant train sound. There is no way to control the volume or mute the sound. I’m going to cut the wires to the speaker once I figure it out. The rest of it is good for a 2 year old, ideally a four year old. Kids love sitting in front of it and using the remote. The media could not be loaded. Bought this last Christmas season (December 2023) after our previous Lionel Polar Express train started having issues. Used for 2-3 weeks before packing it away with the Christmas things. Pulled it out for Christmas 2024, got everything set up, new batteries installed, and it will only run for 2 seconds at a time before the Motor stops. Tried different batteries, took it apart to see if anything was stuck (nothing is stuck) and took this video of what it does. Could never get it working again. For the price, definitely expected it to last more than 1 season. Super disappointed and so were my kids who were excited to have the train out again this year. ... show more
