This was very easy to put together, even if it recommends two people; I did it on my own. Followed the instructions step by step & I LOVE IT! Definitely not bad for the price! Let me start by saying, I'm a 63 year old woman and I assembled this by myself in about 2 hours -- using only the tools provided in the box. The directions are 23 pages of pictures - no words. It was a little difficult to understand which direction a piece attached to the unit, but I was able to figure it out and was completely pleased with the final product. That said, this is a very nice looking, sturdy shelf unit. I built this to fit inside my closet, under the pole. The size was perfect. I had two matching book shelves but one got Hurricane Helene water damaged. I wanted to replace it with the same one but couldn't find it to reorder. So I ordered this and wondered how the color would do. It's perfect! It looks great in that corner of my RV. Good value for the money and the color blends right in with my other one. I can finally organize my books again and get them off every horizontal surface! Seems to have excellent scratch resistance. I was shoving it around on the floor a little with the last pieces without one scratch... but I would suggest putting down an old blanket on the floor to be on the safe side. As I was putting it together (medium skill level), I began to think it was going to be sturdy. It is!! It feels solid and I think it's going to hold up very well! ... show more

Overall the shelves are good quality for being put together yourself particle board. All the parts fit together tightly, there were no missing parts, and it had good instructions. I would have given it a '5' if the specs on the width of the bookcases were correct. They are listed as 31.2 inches wide, but they 31.5. It's not much, but I bought these to put 3 together to fill a specific space between two walls. If they had been right, it would have fit with only a tiny gap on either side. Instead, they are too large by 1/4 inch when they all side by side and I'm having to cut out drywall to make them fit. :(. ... show more

Assembly went smooth. Directions were good. It took me about 45 minutes using only the tool that came with the kit. It looks really nice, is sturdy and the size is perfect for what I needed it for. Materials were packed nicely and there were 0 scuffs or scratches.
