I was looking for a great notebook that i could house all my writings and exercises in for Julia Cameron's "Walking in this World" (a follow-up book to "The Artist's Way".) For those familiar with her books, she requires three days of morning pages be written daily so I wanted a notebook with a generous amount of pages in it, enough to hold at least 250 pages of writing in them (3 pages per day for 12 weeks), plus the extra exercises found in the book. I like the A5 size at it feels doable for me when it comes to filling three pages with writing. I like the pen holder and the bookmark is nice. Not sure if I need double elastic closure bands - they'll probably fail in time, regardless. Paper is nice and thick and the lay-flat binding is appreciated. ... show more

I write a lot - and have also decided to paste typewritten material that I've logged in the past. This definitely satisfies my needs and the price was enticing too. BTW: This is a heavy weighed journal in itself - so adding extras will add to its weight - which is not an issue to me.

This is a beautiful journal and opens nicely for ease of writing. In other reviews I noticed several mentions about damaged corners. Well, mine came that way also, even though it was well packaged in a sturdy, just right sized box and packaging. Apparently, they are being shipped that way to start with...? This is not a terrible ding, and will still work for my personal use, but it is not really giftable, if that is what you have in mind. ... show more

I use several sizes of these for different things. I use the small one for tracking prayer requests and the larger one for taking notes at church on Sunday’s. The only thing that would make these better for my preference is to have a soft cover that is bendable. But I like these so much it will not deter me from purchasing over and over again.
