    • Lincoln always has good products
The K1170 was an upgrade from a 120v welder. Keep in mind the welding helmet does not come with the welder, I bought an automatic darkening helmet from Amazon and it really makes striking the arc a snap. I also bought the wheel kit for this machine, to make it more mobile. As for performance it is a strong and will burn through 16 or 18 gauge steel if you are not careful. Also be sure you choose the proper electrodes, don't get them too small or use too many amps or they will turn black (too much heat). The welder is great no question this my secound one had to sell the first due to military moves. The only bad thing is Northern Tool & Equipment who gave me a delivery date. That date came and went and Northern Tool & Equipment was able to send Emails saying I would be responsible for return frieght and restocking fees. The Welder arrived eight days due no falt of mine and the Emails were not appreciated. ... show more

Excellent!! I bought this to do some welding on tractor parts. It has performed perfectly for what I need. Great size (it's pretty heavy so I put it on a hand cart so I could move it around the garage easily), and all around great product. Shipping was INSANELY fast. It had a projected delivery date of Oct 19-24, it got here on Oct 18th!!! I will definitely be buying more products from this company in the future.     • Looked like it fell off the back of a truck
The product itself gets high reviews and I bought another the same brand Lincoln arc 225 for $20 cheaper from lowes on the same day I received this one. The amp setting knob was broken and it broke the shaft going into the unit otherwise I could have dealt with a broken knob. Then after looking closely I realized the whole bottom was caved in and the clamp and stick holder missing. dealt with boxing it back up and used $5 worth of duck tape so at least the ups store didn't have to deal with something that heavy falling out of the box, dealt with bringing it to the ups store and still waiting on my refund.
