    • Lots of paint, bright vivid colors, easy to use!
I'm just starting to try oil paints, so I wanted a lot of colors to try. This set delivers that---there's a lot of paint for what seems to be a low price point! The colors are vivid and bright and pretty. I like the selection, and I really like that there are three tubes of white, as I'm learning as I go how to modify colors with mixing. For this beginner, the paint seems to be easy to work with. It's said to be creamy, and it really seems to be. It is easy to brush, and it seems to dry quickly. One odd thing---the paints come in eight little boxes of three paints each, instead of in a larger set of 32! The boxes do say on the outside what the colors are, but I'd prefer not to have to keep switching between boxes. ... show more

I got these because I have been really wanted to try my hand at oil painting, and I learned a few things through them. One, you will need additional supplies if you are starting out. I opted for walnut oil to cut the paints and switch between colors. It works really great with these, the paint going on smoothly and easily. Bear in mind, it does make them take a bit longer to dry so they are not AS fast drying if you use the oils over something like paint thinner which I was trying to avoid. I also learned it is a process. I am having to let it dry between layers. Once I get one part done, I have to wait for it to dry to do another part or they do blend in to each other. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the blending with these oil paints thought! I had used acrylics before, and those dry so fast, you can’t blend them super easily…but because these take a bit longer to dry, you have so much more blending freedom! Even with my walnut oil, these still dried faster than I thought. I have not been painting super thick layers, so it is dried and ready for another layer about overnight. I think I am likening these more than acrylics! I can’t wait to finish my piece! I will be using these from here out. Coming from a beginner, these are pretty user friendly. ... show more
