Product worked perfectly, no issues. I clipped off the loose plastic, sanded the rust and put two coats on 3 different spots on my racks. It dries quickly, which is great because your dishwasher isn’t out of commission for days. Keep your thumb over the bottle opening while brushing it on or use nail polish thinner to keep it from getting thick and gloppy. If you let your dishwasher go for two long and have lots of rust, you will need several bottles. These have small amounts for dishwasher maintenance, not major repairs.     • Saved my dishwasher!
I bought this to repair the exposed and rusty tines on my dishwasher racks, which had permanently stained my dishes. There were also a few places on the rack frames that were exposed and rusted, too. I bought the kit that had 25 tips and a bottle of liquid about the size of a bottle of nail polish. I had to spend a good amount of time cleaning up the damaged areas with a Dremmel tool, and many of the tines had damage below the area the tip would cover. I half expected the tips on these to come off the first time running the machine after the repair. The instructions recommended covering the bottle while using the brush, so I wore a nitrite glove and kept my thumb over the opening while I was painting on the product and fitting the tips. The product does dry fast but not too fast to get the tips in place. After everything was covered I went back and painted some product at the base of each tip and applied a second coat to everything. Twice during the application I added a couple of drops of nail polish remover with acetone to the bottle to thin the product. I let this cure for a day then ran the machine. Everything held fast and it looks almost new! I thought the product was too expensive for what it was, but it is much cheaper than new racks or a new dishwasher, so I can't complain. There was even a little bit of leftover liquid. Even though my racks are white, only the light gray was available when I ordered so I went with that. It is extremely light and the repaired areas are almost unnoticeable. Since using this product I have run the machine a couple dozen times and it still looks great and the repairs are holding up well. I am extremely happy with this purchase. I would buy it again and recommend it to others. Edit 11/6/2023-after 9 months of use (4 loads per week) the caps on the tines are holding up really well. I applied some of the paint to other areas of the basket frame that were rusting and these repairs have not held up well at all. I reapplied once and it didn't take long for rust to break through again. It could be that the paint is not meant to be used alone. If you just have tines that need to be recovered I would still highly recommend this as a fix. ... show more

This works great and easy to use. It seems to be holding up well, a month later. However I bought 3 bottles for 4 different homes (for family members as well... can't stand the idea that they are ingesting rust every time they run their dishwasher). I couldn't find colors to match ANY of the 4 dishwashers, surprisingly. I bought 3 colors (dark grey, light grey, and white). But what I needed was a Beige, and a grey that was in between the dark and the light. ... show more

    • Somewhat disappointed
I grabbed this product to try to salvage my rusting racks, which cost a fortune to replace. It works, but I'm still a little disappointed. First of all, the amount is minuscule for the price paid, probably about the same amount that you would find in a small bottle of white out. If you are lucky enough to just have a few damaged prongs, then gluing the caps onto the ends works pretty well. But if you have any further damage to your rack, painting the goop onto the damage will have a limited effect. It doesn't cover the rough rust damage very well, so you'll have to cut the wires entirely to get a clean end to cap. If your rack looks like mine and you do this, you'll have barely any rack left. Was hoping for the goop to be thick and plentiful enough to paint over all the damage, but it looks like I'll only be able to cut and cap a handful of prongs. At least it will probably give me an extra year or two of life on my rack, which I guess is good enough. ... show more

Our dishwasher rack had started to rust in multiple places. I used this to hopefully slow the process. Went on well and so far so good. I dont know how long the touchup paint will last but so far its holding up fine. The caps take a little coaxing to get on but they fit snug and I dont worry about them coming off at all. I wish it came with more of the caps. 50 would be better as I ended up having to buy more caps which is fine. I would buy again if needed. ... show more

    • Still holding after three cycles
Some of my dishwasher rack prongs lost their coating and started to rust. I used a dremel to remove the rust. I also roughed up some of the painted surfaces where I would apply the product. I think it’s very important to follow the instructions that come with the product. Failure to follow the instructions may not yield desired results. After a few washes, the uber goop is still holding and protecting the rack from rusting out. ... show more
